Help!! No gauge lights

so i was running wire from the rear tail reverse light to the front and had to take the dash apart to get access to the stereo. When i put everything together I now have no gauge lights, reverse lights and none of the gauges are working speedo, oil etc. Anyone out there have any idea what i did or should look for?

I have absolutely no clue.
BUT, i had something that was somewhat similar to your situation happen to me a long time ago on a previous car. I had blown a fuse. Maybe you can start by checking your fuses?
I apologize for not being much help, Maybe some of the other member on the forum have a better idea :tiphat:

Yeah I've gone through all the fuse boxes try to locate anything that's blown and nothing is blown. Also what odd is the stereo works and the car starts but when I try to turn the car off the button doesn't react very well. I have to press it several times to get it to turn off

With that many systems affected, I would guess you nicked or loosened a ground.

Going to end up taking it to the dealer tomorrow :( ive taken everything apart and put it back again several times and cant figure it out

Those were the same symptoms I had when I disconnected my panel, then drove into the garage when it started to rain.....the engine would START with the panel disconnected, but would NOT shut off. Had to disconnect the battery, then re-connect the panel plugs (there are two of them)...
all back to normal ok.

hope that helps..........

Take it to the dealership tomorrow. They should be able to assist you. Good luck

What panel plugs are you talking about??? -what you said is exactly the prob I'm having!!

My guess is you didnt connect the cluster back up. BTW if your cluster is not plugged in the alternator is DISABLED!! Check that before driving anywhere.

What's funny is I'm reading these after everything happens to me. I was on the freeway today driving and started to putter and lose power. I ended up having to get it towed off the side of the freeway. because, as you said it, the alternator wasn't charging anything...fml

Oh man Im sorry. I was in that exact same situation except it was 5am in December on a back highway heading to work :( I had my dad come and we would let it charge 10 minutes and then drive back; charge 10 minutes, drive. It took an hour to go 8 miles. Finally I had him take me home on the hunch that if I plugged my cluster in it would turn the alternator back on. And it did.

Did you cluster also go out to where you had no tachometer or speedometer? What cluster are you talking about? The center panel with the stereo and the start button as well as the airbag light?

so the car has been at the dealer since monday morning and they still have not been able to figure out why the gauges dont come on. They figured out that it has a dead battery tho! :shakes head: sucks as i have a meet that i kinda put together this weekend and would like to have my car :(

CSA0890 05-08-2013 05:26 PM

You wouldnt think it would take very long to at least isolate the problem. If the cluster has power going to it and its not on then its the cluster. Hopefully its not since they can take awhile to come in. If it is try and get them to get you a Nismo cluster
