Gauge cluster upper piece removal help

hey guys i am trying to remove the upper piece of the gauge cluster. I was able to get the front part off but it is stuck on the back. I was wondering if anyone could shine some light on this part on removing it easily. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

thanks triples, I got those off. I might have worded it wrong, but its the piece above the tach and speedometer.

The dash must come out to do it right.

OH I thought you were talking about the 3 gauges, but if you want the tach/speedo cover off you must cut the roof off.

It sounds like you got the two screws that screw into the bottom of the tach/speedo cluster, but you may have missed the third screw at the back, also screws into the bottom.

He has to take the whole instrument cluster off so as to not damage it upon removal.

In the Instrument Panel portion of the service manual, the tach/speedo cluster is referred to as the Combination Meter. This attaches to the steering column upper cover via three screws (two in front, one in back). Once the whole thing is removed, I believe it comes apart in three or more pieces.

Ok. I will take another look. I was not aware that the whole cluster had to come off but if that's the only way to do it then so be it. I was just wondering because I am planning on wrapping it in CF. but I def don't want to damage it, my wife is already skeptical about me pulling all these pieces off in the first place. Thanks everyone for helping.

^bear I don't know everything about cars but I'm not a ratard! Funny, knee slapper.
