Need your opinions on what vinyl wrap color!!!

As you can see from my previous thread, my car was severely vandalized. To make the most of the situation I'm having the car wrapped rather then repainted. Car is pearl white so in order to keep the color consistent through car I'm going to do one of the following colors. Im liking the copper color but i think i could get sick of looking at it. Please help me out, dunno what to do!

For visual assistance, the car will be slammed on 20x10.5 gunmetal CV3s.

Doooo it! Are you wrapping it yourself?

DarkJak 04-14-2013 11:46 AM

+1 for copper

I haven't looked at your other thread to see if the ins was going just take care of the damaged paint with a check to have it fixed so I'm flying blind here

But if thats the case? Have them repaint it so it's like it was before, And if you want to wrap it?

Go for it since it's not permanent, And once you get over the wrapping you can have it removed to reveal a NOT so damaged paint job

This will also help in the resale if you decide to sell her down the road.

Thats just my opinion though. :ugh2:

The Copper looks great though

Digital camo!!

asdfsammich 04-14-2013 01:31 PM

If your car gets keyed again (3rd time based on other thread? not sure) would your insurance company pay for a new wrap since that's what it looks like you're using the payout on?

Was going to post this same thing last night, but said screw it. It is his car. I just hope when he trades it in the dealership catches it and not let it slip through to some unlucky buyer....

I plan on keeping this car

asdfsammich 04-14-2013 02:39 PM

I think that's been my general assumption since the other thread. I assume people are getting screwed somehow.

Looks like multiple times. Maybe multiple people? Cuz not first time OPs been keyed with the same car.

The first thing that annoyed me was the attitude on the other thread. It was like "I'm a prick, I got keyed, can you all pay for it with a fundraiser?" :wtf:

And again here, potentially someone down stream will get screwed by this decision.

All I want to know now is if all our insurance premiums get smoothed out to cover this pseudo-fraud (half joking but only half)?

OP if you're not doing this on insurance dime then ignore every word. And, go camo!

Prick?

My previous thread didnt really propose a fundraiser. Sure the title said do but not once to I mention it again. I wasn't expecting nor do I need anyone to pay for the damage that's what comprehensive coverage is for.

Yes my car has been keyed, it's been established its been retaliatory acts by one or more staff members. Unfortunately I work in a building with ppl who do not have work ethics or like to follow rules. It is my job to hold employees accountable and because I do my job, properly, and hold employees accountable, sometimes resulting in job loss, I am targeted.

This is by no means insurance fraud. I am having the car fixed. I've decided to go this route because I plan on keeping this car. I've already thought through the repercussions of not painting the car, yes it can effect value but at this time it doesn't matter because I don't plan on selling.

Progressive pays out regardless of if you want to fix car or not, I opted to fix car so Progressive met with shop and wrote shop a check otherwise I could have opted to say no I dont want to fix and they woulda appraised car on own and gave me a check. Progressive gave a ridiculously low quote (only $4000 to do a full 3 stage paint job). The option if wrapping the car actually allows for me to come out on top in this situation. They charge $3500 for a wrap job, typically charge plenty more for such a paint job.

So where at all have I been a prick? How am I a fraud? Car was vandalized, I filed a report, files a claim, opted to have car fixed, got appraisal and am having the car repaired to equal or better condition.

NOFATCHX 04-14-2013 06:42 PM

And this is the first claim I filed! First time car was keyed I didn't even file a claim, I sucked it up and left it as it was!

NOFATCHX 04-14-2013 06:46 PM

And insurance premiums? C'mon I live in NY, one of if not the worst states to insure a car in. I'm 29, any moving violations are years old and no longer applicable, have full cover and pay a ridiculous $228 a month. If I'm paying out the *** for protection you can be damn sure I'm going to use it when needed.

All right guys, Lets STAY ON TOPIC!

Thanks

Japanjay 04-14-2013 07:44 PM

How long will it take for the camo or any other far out color to get old? Then what, it is not like you can remove it and go back to a pristine stock paint job. Also the vinyl can be simply scuffed by running a finger nail across. Cant buff it out and if you take it off now you have a shitty keyed factory paint job. Just stating that I think getting it taken care of properly is your best option in this.... I would fight with the insurance company and get multiple quotes from various body shops that all hit right around the same number for a proper paint job to correct the damage.

It is like having a infected cut and putting a band aid on it. The infection is still under there, and will have ot be dealt with properly. And then it will be on your dime.

I've thought about this too trust me. And you def made a point I've thought about, what happens when I'm sick of it... Why satin pearl white is still option too. In regards to durability, I've had a flat black roof since May, not one ding or scratch so it is pretty strong material.

Japanjay 04-14-2013 08:57 PM

I can post a pic of what a finger nail lightly drug across looks like in vinyl. I have one across my roof. Not questioning its strength in certain cases. I have my hood, roof, partial spoiler, side mirrors, front fangs in carbon Di-Noc. Front bumper, front fenders, partial rears in clear.

Glambutang 04-15-2013 10:41 PM

camo ia going to be sooo hard to clean, but it definitely would look nice

Zythaxus 04-16-2013 08:17 PM

i would so do the Digi camo if i had the $... i like that look.....must be from playing mechwarrior so much...

Ill 05-05-2013 11:06 PM

I like the digi camo.

Some guy has his Evo painted in a somewhat camo pattern up around my area. He rolls around with that world record Evo X that is also around the area.

His wheels aren't dirty, they just continue the pattern and line up in a odd but somewhat awesome way whenever he stops and parks.
