I'm literally in most parts of SoCal. I live in Irvine, but work near LAX. My gf's house is in Arcadia, but she goes to school in Riverside. So I can be found in any of those locations and anywhere in between! PM me with your number and I will text you to arrange a meet up if any of you guys want to see it in person. I know it might be hard to capture the differences in a picture. :tiphat:

Ceramic is the way to go blocks 100% of the UV and if I remember correctly 65% of the heat.. A buddy of mine has a tint shop locally and he recommends ceramic, it's a bit more expensive depending where you go and connections but well worth it. I'm getting my tint swapped out for ceramic soon.

Huper Optiks makes bolder claims about the heat. I think they claim like 75 or 80%. Real or not it sold me. I have it on my car. Lol

You can feel the difference with keeping the interior cooler with ceramic. These things have great heat rejection. I have it on my other car and it really performs. H Optik is pricey.

If they're charging you a hefty sum on tint removal, you can save money by taking it off yourself. You're in CA so the warm weather works on your side. Let your car sit under the sun for 20 - 30 minutes. Spray water on the inside of the windows and completely cover with brown garbage bag. The bags will cling to the window. Ensure full coverage. Do the same on the outside. Let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes. These will loosen the adhesive. Work one window at a time, remove the bag, and using a blade, peel off from one corner, and once you have enough to grip with you fingers, start peeling the tint off. This process will leave little to no residue.

I did this after a fix it ticket for having tints on the front.

That works very well, I may suggest... A little soap in the water? (I forgot to be honest)

And WalMart sells some half assed kit to take it off for $5-8

If anybody is in So Cal the guy I am thinking about going to charges 40.00 to take existing tint off. Let me know if you want the info :D

Huper Optik vs Formula 1 (based off my google research):

-Formula 1 is darker shade than Huper Optik
-Formula 1 curves better than Huper Optik (apparently Formula 1 is thinner and easier to deal with the dot matrix. Whatever than means...)
-Huper Optik I found a few complaints on "blueing" effect. Formula 1 is found to have a "greying" effect.
-Huper Optik is easier to see out of than Formula 1

Now this is strictly google based searches and peoples opinions/experiences with it. I haven't had any experience with it, but wanted to show my finding in case it helps anyone

on a side note: I will be going with Formula 1! Thanks to everyone that chimed in with helpful info :D
