Amuse Questions

Someone hit me on Friday in the back and never left insurance stuff or anything. I dont want to pay a deductable of $500 when I can get a Amuse for about that price and have someone paint it for me. I was wondering who knows of the cheapest site to buy the bumper and is there any sites that has it come painted with the paint number I have?

car would look silly with a factory front and sides with amuse rear.... and i highly doubt you can find an official amuse rear pre-painted or even close to the price of a factory one.

A replica amuse will easily cost you over a grand.

Around 600 for the bumper and around another 700 for paint and install, assuming they can get it to fit well if its fiberglass.

Might aswell pay the deductible, take it to a body shop and have them put the amuse on on the insurance's tab.

Then pay an extra $500~ get the front and the paint will be on the insurance's tab too!

What they're trying to say is that the body shop will use an equivalent charge for painting the front bumper as they would to replace the factory bumper.. So you pay deductible, buy Amuse kit, and the paint/install charge would be wrapped up in the insurance claim.. In the end, you will probably save 12-1500 by using the insurances money.. All they care about is getting the damage fixed.. They don't care what parts you put back on the car.. they only pay for OEM parts or OEM remakes... meaning they will give you enough money to replace those parts, and nothing more.. You can do whatever you want with the money they give you.. Just note that they will assume you fixed your car with their money.. You could always just leave it busted up and pocket the money as well

Go to the most expensive body shop you can find and have them right you a quote for the damages. Then take the money and go to an "ok" body shop and have them fix everything with that money and you could probably put a bit on top of it and have full amuse.

Im only 22 never really been through the insurance and all. I got this car when I was 19 and so this should be interesting and what would you guys say if I said my roommate works at the body shop then what? He can prolly paint it for super cheap and all! Should I still go through insurance and get that dedectable and have my insurance go up monthly?

Usually cheap body and paint work looks cheap. If he's good, then it's an option. If you have any issues with his work down the line though, it may make living with him awkward.

Is it really worth the monthly increase in your premium? At your age I would say no.

Chuck33079 03-05-2013 05:58 PM

Is the bumper actually damaged, or does it just need to be repainted? If it's just a re-spray, I'd get it painted and not mention a word to insurance.
