removed headlights for painting and turn signals dont work now
I've checked the bulbs, and they are fine, every other light works except the turn signal bulbs. I get a fast flash on the inside, and none of the emergency flashers work front or rear, but the inside lights do flash normal when the emergency is on (according to service manual, it doesn't have a fast flash mode).
I'm not extremely concerned about the turn signals and flashers not working, but I also have this annoying alarm every time I close the door now. I guess its alerting me to the problem? Sound alert - YouTube any ideas? All the wires seem to be intact, one small wire did break to the orange position light, but I fixed it. Also, can anyone tell me which fuse is for the turn signals? I pulled every fuse, but I don't have the interior map any more of what fuses go where. |
new headlight harness is pretty cheap, so I think I'm just going to replace them and see what happens.

took the screw out of the door switch and solved the noise problem.
on the bright side, they look good! http://imageshack.us/a/img11/8400/imageaooc.jpg |
Did you check the fuses at the IPDM?
|
IPDM? Is that the fusebox by the battery? If so, yes, but I saw nothing labelled as turnsignal.

And usually it isn't a fuse, it's a really that controls everything else |
Oh, and if NONE work, I have no idea what's really wrong
I disconnected all nights last night because I am gonna do a swap and I plugged only the left side blinker bulb in... So THAT works, I get hyper flash on the right side dye to the bulb being disconnected, and neither of my headlights work (all ok because they are disconnected) Again, usually ALL the lights are connected with a relay, if they goes out everything craps out |

I'm digging into the service manual. Appears the BCM controls the flasher speed... I'll let you know if I find anything.

According to the manual-
Parking lamp/Front side marker lamp fuse location IPDM fuse #52 10 A |

I sent him the diagram, but it doesn't say #52 anywhere |
Mike, do you have the service manual?
Look in EXL page 51 If you don't have it I can send it to you of make screen shots. |
The IPDM E/R is the box Mike was looking at near the battery.
|
Page 51 states -
BCM performs the high flasher operation (fail-safe) if any bulb or harness of the turn signal lamp circuit is open. Note: Turn signal lamp blinks at normal speed when using hazard warning lamp. |
It is the fuse in the IDPM it is not labeled properly mine blew and I changed it and it all good.

Have you checked the connections? I mean its worth a shot... maybe you pullled a wire loose when you were unpluging from the harness I would check to see if any wires wiggle a little to much lol.......
|
I don't know which one is 52, but I pulled every 10A fuse and they are all fine in there.

Time to double check the wiring I guess.
|
new harnesses are less than 40 each, so I'm going to just replace them and see what happens. If that doesn't do it, I don't really need them anyway.

I had a similar issue it was a fuse. My issue was my passenger side headlight TURN SIGNAL and LOW BEAM were not working. I troubleshooted it by installing the defective light into the opposite side harness WHICH IT WORKED. So after taking the word of a mechanic saying the fuses where fine, I discovered that one fuse was burned out. The fuse on the right side, 4th from the bottom controls both the TURN SIGNAL and LOW BEAM. Once replaced, both my turn signal and low beam worked again :)
Hopefully that helps, |
my low and high beams work fine, as do the two lower running bulbs, just not the turnsignals
|
Did your issue ever get fixed? How did you do it? I am running into the same issue...
