hmm, did i mess up?

Got a new titanium shift knob from grafixpressions, weighing in at a whopping 1.5 pounds!.. i like the color and everything but recently my GF said it looked dumb, that the old knob flowed better. I ignored her, what does she know about cars. but then i gave my dad a ride somewhere, and he didnt really like it, even a couple friends of min said it didnt really flow with the car... after so many people, i kind of wonder if its true? u guys think the old one looked better? id have to buy a new OEM knob since mine was one of the unlucky ones with enough lock-tight to last a lifetime lol.
i also thought shifting would feel better since its so heavy, but i think the old one felt better.

jpritche 02-11-2013 12:16 PM

Its your car. You are in it more than anyone else. That being said, get the one that you like th best.

Minsu 02-11-2013 01:17 PM

Don't let em get to u!!!!

DEpointfive0 02-11-2013 01:23 PM

Why not paint or PC it black?

And/or if you want another stock shift know I can overprice sell you another too, lol

kenchan 02-11-2013 01:29 PM

you need to get the biggy type-r knob from twm if you really mean it.

RoshDawg 02-11-2013 01:55 PM

I got the password jdm one that everyone was raving about, only to miss the OEM one. Plus in the summer time the knob gets soooooooooooo hot if you leave it in the sun. Only way to help this out is to put a sock over it. Looks pretty silly driving with a sock over you knob though...

Putting a sock over your knob should never go outside the comfort of your bedroom.....

What color might you recommend?
You think its possible to get that brushed steel look on it?. I was also considering pasti dip as a quick 5min thing just to get a feel for a different color. I wouldnt keep the plastidip of course lol.

Im completely satisfied with my wc latheworks shiftknob. Its the deep version and its black.....perfect imho.

RoshDawg 02-11-2013 05:43 PM

I wonder if there is a DIY where you can insert a weight into the OEM knob. I still have mine in perfect condition. Strap wrenches and gator grips are key!

if youd like, i can send you some pics of my shattered OEM, and maybe you can get some ideas. It looks like a big round candy that someone bit off of. lol... my poor shift knob :shakes head:

Haha that would actually be pretty helpful! No rush, just whenever you get a chance. Thanks!

hmmm, im not sure, i got it from grafixpressions.com. i mean it doesnt suck, its just harder to get into reverse for some reason and i dislike the color.

anyone know why it takes more effort to get into reverse with it? maybe because it sits a little lower or the grip?

Z370Z011 02-11-2013 11:23 PM

CHANGE OF PLANS!! :)
Ima just buy the nismo knob and sell this one.

Good choice. Of course I may be biased. The Ti is awesome, but it will not help with your hot/cold issue obviously.

And for the others asking the Grafixprssions Fat Boy shift knob is the TK Hebi Bebi replica.
