How are you supposed to lift up the front end of the car with Amuse Side skirts??
 

So I have the amuse side skirts, was going to lift up the front end and noticed the side skirts pretty much go all the way out to the metal piece where you're supposed to attach the jack to. Not only that, but once you start cranking up the jack, the levers hit the bottom of the side skirt because it hangs out lower than OEM and starts to crush the bottom of the side skirt, making it impossible to lift up the car without breaking/cracking the piece.

Has anyone encountered this, and what do you do to avoid any damage?

Yep, I use two hockey pucks stacked on top of my floor jack.

I have to position the floor jack under the car in the right spot, then reach under and place the hockey pucks on the cup of the floor jack.

Or drive it up onto some 2x4s to raise it a bit and jack it up from the frame rails.

Do those have a peg underneath that slides through the lift arm, or just sit in the cup? Because the cup on my jack isn't removable... That's why I have a hockey puck now, I just need to cut a groove in it.

At the link posted it says to place it on the cup. You should be ok.

If someone orders one, I'd just wanna see pics when it shows up. I won't feel bad cause my hockey puck was only $5 shipped. :icon17:

No peg, but there are 2 different styles one that has a cup the fits over the smaller jacks, & a larger one with a flat bottom. I ordered both & sent the cupped one back.

Yep the larger one fits the low profile Harbor Freight Jack. At first it seems like it would slide around as it's a slick feeling polymer, but it's solid once under way. Oh & they come black now not yellow if that matters. & made in the USA :usa: Sorry Canada (Gale Force) even your hockey pucks aren't made in Canada :p (Slovokia)

Hockey pucks work, but I think that this will out last a hockey puck because it has more material once the puck is channeled out.

what model did you get? the 1006 or 1007?

I kept the 1006 for my low profile Harbor Freight Jack. It's a little larger than the cup, but as previously mentioned, once it's under way there is no sliding around. It has the flat bottom unlike the cupped 1007 which is designed to fit over the jack cup of smaller jack bases

+1 for the hockeypucks. I have 2 taped together to jack it up by the pinch rail. Then gwt a jackstand under the frame.

I have 4 chunks of 3/4 plywood to drive on to to get my hoist under the car, then pucks on the hoist feet to clear the skirts, lol what a ordeal. lol

What I do to avoid the sliding is place the adapter into the pinch weld & then bring the jack into it. That jack will bit into the adapter & the pinch weld keeps it from popping out. Plus it gives you enough clearance to get under the car ;)

I wonder what the difference is, if you could trim it down so it Does fit in your jack?

Yes you could trim it down as it is only polymer. This is the jack that I have. You can also take the cup off this jack & drill the center out of the lifting pad little & it will sit lower on the jack without any sliding trouble. http://www.harborfreight.com/media/c...mage_12170.jpg
