Silver Fuel Gauge Swap?

Hey everyone, I was just curious if anybody has attempted a swap for the black fuel gauge assembly from the 2013s? I know there's a black applique for it but I personally don't like the look.

The piece itself wiggles slightly leading me to believe that it's not a one piece instrument cluster type of deal. Please somebody tell me they've done it!!!! lol

Cool. I didn't know the '13 bezel was black. Interested in this thread too.

Yep, but that is something they should have fixed after year 1. I didn't notice how bad the silver was until I picked my car up for delivery & I could not read the fuel gauge at all :shakes head:. I know OP doesn't care for it, but Simota's fix works great for me.

YMMV :tiphat:

Coming from a car with a vague gas gauge and no low-fuel light (not that it's needed), the Z gauge isn't all that bad. Or, at least it's novel for me still. I would like it to be black however.

Once again, a corporate giant goes after the little guy. Nissan's trying to put Simota out of business by changing the gauge...what a pity.

How's he going to feed himself? Pay the mortgage? Buy all those Amuse & carbon fiber parts? Do we need to set up a Simota relief fund?

:bowrofl:

Is there a part number for the 2013 fuel gauge pod or is it included with the entire 2013 gauge cluster?

Probably the cluster

Found an on-line dealer parts page. Apparently the fuel/temperature gauge cover is part of the binnacle and the entire thing must be purchased. But I don't believe everything I read.

Part Number[F50]: 24820-3GY0B Price=$1022 retail!!!!

This. Mine looks great. It would look even better if I hadn't put it on a tiny bit cockeyed. For $1k there's no chance in hell I'd be swapping it to the 2013 piece.

LOL!!! Yeah,
I've had mine changed, it was $850 for the cluster, special order so it took a week, and it had to have my car's mileage on it...
THANK GOD for the warranty

fuel gage cover

just to let you know once you remove the backing this is very flimsy ,and when you install this use a little soap and water to move it around .

KaienZ34 03-11-2013 11:24 AM

Been rockin the Simota gauge overlay since the first batch and it still looks great and doesn't move when cleaning. Thanks again Sim... :tiphat:
