LED Indicators - Fast Flashing

Hi all,
I have changed the front and rear indicators to LEDs and now they are flashing fast, I have put 2x 10w resistors in but still flashing, anyone got any ideas with resisitors I need to stop this Watt/ohm

stu_c 12-13-2012 02:21 PM

I have solved it :)

Well. What was it?

stu_c 12-13-2012 02:38 PM

I have worked it out to be a 1x 25w resistor for each side :)

because the indicators on each side (e.g. all left and / all right side) are linked if you change the front and rear indicators then all you need is one 25w reistor on the indicator wire on each side, easiest place in the boot

Can you post a link or a pic, as well as where you installed it?

I really want to swap everything out to LED in my car, just didn't want hyper flash... And I hated the thought of paying $20+ for a box that kills hyper flash that I know is a cheap resistor

I am going to double check these tomorrow and make sure it works if so ill put a guide up etc on where to do it etc

Thanks for letting us know.

Is that a 1Ω, 25W resistor? Ie, does x = ohms?

^ I think OP means one times (as in the number one) thus the resistor is not pluralized as earlier when he said 2x resistorS

Looking back over the posts, I believe you may be right. And 1Ω wouldn't give much of a drop.

We still need to know the resistance to get the proper resistor.

What about the possibility of a different flash unit designed for LED bulbs instead?

Here is a good place to put them so the bumper reinforcement acts like a heat sink(this is my car)

Ohms?

Bro, I know you're trying to be helpful, but without the resistance value in ohms, this thread doesn't (help, that is).

I don't know if you were talking to me but I was answering DEpointfive0 question.

Nice, professional-looking job.

Hi sorry!!
I never had notification that I had replies on this even though I am subscribed! I'll post pics up later :-)
