well continuing from yesterday i went ahead and disconnected my battery to let it sit for the night and held out slim hope it would help with my horn issue, but no luck for me i guess with that as i hooked it back up this morning and still the same thing, horn still not functioning properly, still havent been able to find anything on the boards through search either to help with the situation :sigh:

Two fuses for the horn (FSM HRN-2):
#31 (15A)
#38 (10A)

Both are located in the Fuse, Fusible Link And Relay Box (AKA Battery Terminal with Fusible Link). See PG-85 for fuse locations in box.

Edit: Fuses 50 and 51 (15A) may be involved with the horn. Both are in IPDM. I think they are power for the IPDM, but, since you will already be in the IPDM, you might as well check.

Interesting piece of information kind of weird how all of those are linked cause all my sidemarkwr lamps and parking lights work fine thanks for all the info though

Yes, weird. On a 370Z, I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of the lamps have multiple power sources. One of these days I'll take a look at the wiring diagrams and see if I can figure it out. Maybe it's just a difference between the '09s and the '11s.

BTW, I got to ruminating about your brittle contact wires and that sounds like a symptom of high heat and/or arcing. I'd double-check the socket for damage.

thanks for the heads up, i was a little worried about the socket too so i checked that before i put the stock bulbs back in and it was clean thankfully. i got around to replacing the fuse today since they let us off early from my job for a company christmas party and sure enough it was the exact fuse you described that was fried. interesting thing i found out though is after replacing that fuse my horn started working properly again, i went ahead and checked all the other fuses in the IPDM box and everything else was fine so i'm all good to go now. rep. coming your way southark
