Brake Calipers - Paint or Powdercoat?

I have a black Z and want to go Yellow with the Calipers.

I saw a Z this weekend with painted calipers.

I've always heard powder coating them is the way to go.

Should I have them painted or powder coated?

What are the cost/cleaning/durability differences?

Hoping to end up with this look:

I'm a little biased, but
Powdercoating is more durable, less resistant to chipping and is more flexible than paint, so it can absorb tiny rock impacts rather than chip

Powdercoating looks much better and keeps looking better than brush on or home spray kits.

Powdercoating will have the same type of finish as high quality automotive paint.

If you go with paint and have a body shop do them, price will probably be comparable to powdercoating. I charge 350 for a set of 4. You might find it cheaper, but my price includes disassembly and reassembly of the calipers. Most powdercoaters won't touch that work. I do, because calipers are my specialty and I've done over 2300 sets of them in the last 7 years.

+1 to Powdercoat

Definitely powdercoat.. and it would be a mistake not to get Mike to do them for you.

Should have been more specific on the paint side:
By paint I mean a shop professionally paint them.

I used a rattle can "caliper paint" on my last car and it was a disaster after a year. So that's out of the question.

Mike, I've see some of your work in other threads but my car is a dd.
What would the typical turn around be including shipping from 64119?

2 days if we schedule when they get to me. I also have one set of exchange core calipers for the Sport brakes, but unfortunately, the last guy I sent them to got sent away for work until mid november right after he got them, and I also have three others waiting in line. one or two of those might lose patience and change their mind though since its taking so long.

I know Mike's work from the corvetteforum for many years and here on the 370zforum. His work is worth the price and the wait.
