Before you get flamed.. Check out oznium.com. They have all.kinds of flexible led strips that come in different lengths..

But please reconsider putting underglow on your car.

Holy **** I got this on google and thought it was old haha. IBTL! Anyways go with the streetglow optx kit. I had it on my old mustang and they were great for the price and never failed. Stay away from undercar LEDs friendo...

 First off, if you aren't planning on making your car a show queen, I would suggest not doing it as you can't drive down the street with them (aside what F&F would have you think)...

But, for the sake of argument:

:iagree: with this, I've ordered stuff from Oznium for previous vehicles and have always been pleased with the pricing/fast shipping/quality of what I ordered. They have several options for underbody kits if you do intend to do so. They also have flexible or fixed curve strips to put in the wheel wells which to me add to the look because there are no gaps in the lighting...

I was born in 91, I grew up with the F&F, so I lit my first car up like a damn ufo  I guess if you want to look like a hot wheels car go right ahead. I checked the status of OPTX and i dont know if they sell it anymore. I got the full kit (front, back, and both sides led) for 40 bucks back in the day. The quality was outstanding and very bright (they were red) My neighbor liked them so much he got blue ones (we though we were legit rollin our under car LED mustangs together :ugh2:) which were also very bright and are still going. Also check your area for driving with these on the street. Despite what above said, it is legal to use them in some states as long as red, white, or blue is not present on the front or rear of the vehicle while on the highway (excluding head and tail lights of course. Unless you make them blue). Otherwise perfectly legal down neighborhood streets or in parking lots, which is where all the cool highschoolers hang out late at night anyways (Exxon P-lot FTW). just be careful putting too many lights on or your alternator will go out like mine did after I went 4 under wired to the battery, then 4 inside and a gps soft wired to a pilot motorsport led missile switch pod all plugged into my cigarette lighter....

Hey. I recently got a 370z. I have put a few things into the internals, however I would like to add a few accents to the outside. I have blacked out rims and plan on painting my brake calipers red. However I was wondering about underbody lights. More specifically LEDs. I was looking for a good setup under $300. Will anyone with tips, good kits, or experience please post what you recommend I should put on it. Also post pictures if you have them. Thanks.

I honestly can't HELP since it's not my cup of tea.

Do whatever you want with your car if you want to strap on a missile launcher on top also Well, more POWAH to you!

It's your ride. :driving:

But don't park next to me. :icon17:

Very funny Triple's but I'd let him part next to me for protection if he's got a missile launcher on top.

As for the OP, dude install the led. I always enjoy seeing what other folks do with their cars not matter what. Imagine if everyone did the same thing. Would make life boring.

Vichtz 10-12-2012 08:33 AM

OP what were you thinkin anyways? You got pics of the new car or some imput on what color led's you're runnin? secretly, I miss my undercar sometimes ;)

Undercar LED's are risky business, but the colors you are describing are out of the ordinary (Not ******* blue!!!!). Also, as much as I love Judas Priest, those colors are not breaking the law IN SOME PLACES. OP check your local laws. What color Z do you have, and welcome btw haha. Also, that traffic analogy is terrible and makes you seem ignorant. LED are stupid in my opinion and yours. But getting hit by a car is gonna do damage either way, regardless of opinion on the cars ability to do so. Terrible analogy...

Some people think Mullets and fanny packs are cool. Do what you want with your car OP, but I personally think its pretty ghetto and cheesy to put this on a $40k car.

NickD 10-12-2012 03:52 PM

I dont know why its such a big deal when someone wants to put underbody LEDs or lambo doors on their car. The way i see it is until you start making my car payments i'm doing what i want with my car. If you dont like it feel free to change the channel.

Op: do to your car what you think looks good and make your car what you want it to be. Isnt that the point of customizing cars anyway???? to make it your own? If you listen to others we will all end up with the same friggin car in 9 different colors.

If u get the leds dont get tubes, get the thin strips so they dont crack like the old style tubes used to.

Vichtz 10-12-2012 05:28 PM

:iagree:

streetglow OPTX was tubed so you could see them in the back. That was fail haha but the tube protects the lights so its a trade off. I drove the car 50,000 miles never had the underglow get damaged or go out on me.
Edit: I even hit a racoon doin 75 and destroyed my front bumper, but guess what was still goin... OPTX led's haha I couldn't believe it. Didnt even crack!

As a sociologist I gotta ask, when and why did under glow go out of style?

HandnPantz 10-16-2012 04:36 PM

They never did for me. Im getting me 4 green LED strips for underneth the car. Next step lime green side stripes on the black Z baby!

It jumped the shark when it got cheap enough for anyone & everyone to afford it.
