I recently tackled this and it took a few days, but saved a ton. I worked on the headlights all week after work and total cost..........Less that $20

After I took apart the headlights, I applied the Krylon Fusion Satin and installed the LEDs. It takes 18 total, but I purchased a couple of extra. The LEDs I purchased cost .48 a piece and the color is around 5000k matching my LED parking lights. The LED's are 5mm with built-in resistors which made things a lot easier. They are super bright and crisp & clean. Here's a link to where I purchased them from:

So quick question. I know 180 Customs and Mr Works made them, but not sure if either still do. Anyway does anyone still make the custom headlights with the blue "landing zone" LED's?

Any body have a reputable source of buying LEDs that will last a long while. The ones I have keeps on flickering.

There is a local guy in SoCal who has AMAZING reviews, hiw forum name is PaperBoy... And he got a new account which is GYY, PM me and I'll forward your contact info to him. His prices are VERY reasonable
$100 crack open/seal fee, I think its $100 to do the landing strip, and some extra to paint...

I will have him do the landing strip and dual halos and upgraded projectors for both once I can scrap together some $$$

wow **** talking on 180 and no one knows what they charge...

they are worth every bit of it as an FYI.. im sending my next cars headlights to them again.

bullitt5897 10-23-2012 12:16 PM

Unless you have worked with 180 or been quoted there is no need for the **** talking on them. They do great work and they do not rattle can paint your headlights... its automotive paint and with an awesome show finish. I and others have worked with them to pioneer new and innovative ideas for our car headlights. They also dont use 5mm LED's... They use a higher end super flux led which lasts longer is more reliable and is brighter.

I've seen 180's work and I agree it is excellent work BUT the customer service is SH!T, I put money down had it there for months and nothing was done was given the run around constantly and after being taken for a joke i took my money and spent it on other things. If you don't mind being toyed with then 180 does great work and i suggest it if you have the patience

Their customer service has been nothing but great for me.

After 15 months I call them and they still remember who i was and exactly what i had done.

They went above and beyond for my work and kept me up to date.

I know this doesn't help your situation but ive come to realize that anytime someone complains on the internet, its never exactly like they say it is.

+1 for need one in florida
Yep, Florida needs simple set up, Halos single or dual, Landing Strip I can do them. You buy the parts, bring the lights we can set them up pretty quick with your help. How you wire them into the car is on you, I can set it up using the parking light switch or run some leads that you can run into the cab to a switch. All I do is the lights, you provide the paint, heat shrink, LED's, wire if needed. I'll do the rest. With your help it goes pretty quick.

I don't like the landing strips cause no one has cracked the nut on what type of resisters to use, but pfdaxe post looks good: 5mm 12v Pre-Wired LED White Ultra Bright 15,000 mcd

I don't advertise, cause I don't want AK made at me. I get 1 or 2 a year, so I don't charge money, I ask for parts for my car instead. So if your in Florida I can help you out, or you can pay 900.00 and wait for them.

I used 180 on our first 370z. I had to keep calling them to get the lights to me. Found out the plastic tab on the top of the light was broken off (they said during shipment). Was not able to get a new light even with 2k insurance on the package through FedEx. I also payed for a shaved lading strip which was not done.

I was able to look past all of these problems because of the hassle to ship the lights to them. I even went as far as to source them for our new 370z and due to horrible customer service decided they were not worth it to me again.

I know every company has there issues every once in a while but two times with the same person is lame.

I would suggest doing this its just $20 and if it doesnt turn out good send it to 180. Worth a shot.
