Amuse seems to be the most popular front bumper replacement, but it's expensive. I personally love the Z's front bumper with the fangs so I think a lip is a better choice, plus you have alot to choose from. I went with a Mines replica and molded to the bumper. Here's a pic.

Aero Jacket SS looks pretty aggressive. I like the Carbon Signal TS CF. That is the one I went with. Looks pretty nasty and sleek.

henryy370z 09-30-2012 11:51 AM

i like the s tune nismo lip

henryy370z 09-30-2012 12:00 PM

If your car is DD, go with a lip. The stock front bumper is much more durable compare to after market fiber glass. Exclude the stillen front bumper

To me, there are two aggressive looking lips made for the Z. The Varis and the Sunline. I'd take either one anytime. There are two great looking bumpers and to me it is the Fujimura Raptor or the Amuse. I am using a lip until I can afford the Raptor. If your car is aggressively lowered, find a way to install metal plates at the bottom. These plates protect the lip or bumper from thinning.

In the end, it is less expensive if you go with a lip. Full bumper replacements are expensive, more $$ to paint, and more $$ to install.

henryy370z 10-01-2012 08:31 AM

thats true, you guys think is dumb getting the nismo lip?

Not dumb. There are other better options though.

robones 10-02-2012 09:48 AM

To be honest, the only thing you are getting with an aftermarket bumper is increased DRAG with absolutely no improvement in AERO Dynamics, more weight, and less durability than the stock urethane bumper and less quaility over the stock bumper.

What's with the wide mouths, additional side vents, etc with all these aftermarket bumpers? Do you like showing off your washer fluid container? or the A/C condenser? :stirthepot:

henryy370z 10-02-2012 11:54 AM

a lip sounds good, but i hate drilling a hole in my bumper

Q: lip kit or new front bumper? any suggestions?
A: oem OEM OEM!!! Slam on stance that’s aggressive!

Personally the Z with no front plate already looks aggressive. Anything else is rice.

Unique_Z 10-02-2012 01:01 PM

I say lip kit, here's mine.

I like to be able to see how much washer fluid I have left and as far as the drag goes that should not bother you to much since you would only be seeing my rear bumper anyway:stirthepot: FI FTW!!!

LOL I can drift behind you at least! and just wait until your car over heats due to FI and then I can pass you going 30 mph while I wave my hands :)

Dont hold your breath those big holes in my front bumper helps that 34row oil cooler breath a little easier and once I finish designing my vented hood I will be running cooler than you all day long.

but back on topic, a lip or bumper all comes down to how much you are willing to spend and what you are going for. a front bumper may not be the best for everyday driving especially if the roads are bad around you. But at the same time I had a front lip and it busted due to roads so no matter what you do you run the risk of breaking something.

robones 10-02-2012 07:49 PM

Thats all good bro! happy for you. :)

You actually have a purpose for all those vents found in after market bumpers. My comment was meant for the 90% of the people who will keep their car stock.

Evo-r lip kit and I just painted my fangs flat black ;)

edub370 10-03-2012 10:07 AM

depends on if u want the front of your car to sit lwoer. a lot of people (me) when they lowere their cars have issues scraping errthang! in that case i would say, stillen or ing's front bumper. doesnt sit much lower than factory, but still gives your car a more agressive look

http://www.the370z.com/members/edub3...9485-sub-3.jpg

i really like cars looking factory, but different if that makes sense. i like picking mods to where people say "that looks good, is that factory?" which i have gotten with this stillen lip many times.

Looks amazing! I just bought my SR last week and I'm plastidipping my fangs matte black this weekend. I love the lip kit, though; really gives it that aggressive look. I want mine to look as close to a GTR without looking too poser lol

robones 10-04-2012 08:37 AM

Remember whatever choice you make you have to consider if the lip or front bumper matches the sides and rear of your car. You dont want an overly agressive front while the rear end and sides are stock. It will not look good.

If you want to keep the stock sides and rear, a subtle lip is your only choice, i.e.: Stillen, Ingens, Evo-R are some examples.

The SUNLINE/AERO JACKET/THOUSAND REPS lips are big and way too agreesive and will not look good if you do not get the side skirts and rear splats. With just the Sunline lip it will make your car look like a snow plow. I guess it may come useful to some now the winter is coming.

So you have to decide how deep you wanna go with the aero modications because depending on what you get upfront, will determine whether you need sides and a new rear or rear add ons.

Below you will find my friends 370z with just the lip so you can see what I am talking about. :ughdance:

I like the stillen front lip.

Thinking about buying it. $270 is the cheapest that I have seen. If I can find a bumper painted in my color for $400-500 i would rather have that. As I have some rock chips.

Thanks. And no matter which one of the lips posted here you get, I'm pretty sure "poser" will not be anywhere near the word coming to mind when people see it:driving:
