Now that your car no longer have the new car smell,
what in car air freshener/fragrance are you guys using?
I am looking for something different. Something that's NOT available in AutoZone or pepboys and costs $1.99 :shakes head:. Something not too strong yet noticeable. Something very sweet. I hate going into peoples car and hold by breath because their air freshener is way too strong. I was looking into CS-X3 air fresners https://www.getsquash.com/store/images/cs-x3full_1.jpg or Carall Glare fine http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...glare_fine.jpg Reference store: https://www.getsquash.com/store/?m= thanks for your input(s) |
man i love squash!!(the first one) smells so great but it does come across strong at first till u get used to it. it also comes with the adjustable vents to fit ur needs. If i were u i would put it in the compartment on top of the stereo and just open and close the lid when ur in and out of the car!

Oh sh&t, JDM air fresheners! I was into these in the early 90s in high school...anyways, my favorite are the "Fresh Bottle" series. I like the purple and red ones the best. These are O.G.!!!
You guys like the new stuff, Air Spencer is played out! |
ive used both, between the two i choose carall it last longer than the x3's
|
Thanks for the inputs. I already have some good suggestions!

Are those the ones you're talking about? where can I buy them? Quote:

caralls just sucks that i lose my cup holder since thats where i put it lol
|
I've been addicted to squash for yrs.
suprisingly, yankee candle has a few good fragrances too...and you can pick up a 3 pack of car fresheners for under 10 bucks at the mall |
Wow I remember those X3's from high school. The first would last quite a while and I remember the refill would only last about 1/3 compared to the first one.
|
I sorry but a thread on what car air freshener/fragrance guys are using? You've got to be joking.
|
^ so what...lol.
I like the little tree shape thing that goes on the rearview mirror. I know it's cheap but it's like a classic. Using dash cleaners and dash protectants and for the floor mats. The smell of chemicals punched my face for like a month. |

Same here. Never heard of these brands either. Always willing to see something new.

I've had that CS-X3 squash thing in my car for a few thousand miles now. Smells great, works great, I love it.

Recently, I broke up with my g/f. The reason, please don't think I'm getting "Dr. Phil" on you, she likes anime and I said it was for losers, yes, I'm not kidding you...long story. I essentially told her that people who like anime escape into some stupid little world, they're usually dorky, stay virgins for the rest of their lives (though we didn't follow this), and the likes. I couldn't stand her offhand impersonations of anime characters. But have you ever used a Japanese air freshener? They're not the same generic-smelling ones like at Pepboys, Kragens, etc. |

After 2 years my car still has the new car smell. :) Just keep windows shut most of the time, and keep it clean.

The squash Air Aid is so good, it's ridiculous. Unfortunately, I do lose my cup holder, and it absolutely dies under heat and sunlight (it turns into this watery mush that just vaporizes...only air freshener I've had that does this). I got sick and tired of the Air Spencer version, though. Though the tiny air spencer...GIGA, I think? Those are pretty good too. Friend's civic had that, and it was strong as all heck. http://www.act-labs.com/productimages/223_x.jpg edeeZee, where's your ex now, i want to meet her ;) |

I use the minty freshness of newports.
|
So I drive my car about 500 miles a month and always keep it in the garage with the windows up. By my calculations I'll need one of these in about 193 days (rough estimate). Researching now.l

Not very convenient because it is in a spray rather than long lasting air freshener, but also not something you find at PepBoys:

If you really want to pimp your car out, you might try this:

If doing these things makes you a loser than i must be a big loser. On a off note, doing impersonations of anime characteres is "annoying" she could have did that with any thing, what ever subject she liked im sure she has a impression for. The point is, it wasnt the anime that made it annoying. |
CS-X3 air fresners - the last time i used this was on a 2000 Eclipse. Old school. I decided not to put it in my 350Z and I wouldn't put it in my 370Z either only for the fact the crowd i used to hang out with were a bunch of ricers. Plus I remember that's ALL you would smell. It smelled good but after a while it made you smell like that. My clothes, my books, everything. I like the scents that Mequires cleaning product leaves in the car. It's subtle yet a fresh.

I will be trying Griot's New Car Scent. I have the leather scent from Griot's, but it's a love/hate smell depending on whose nose it is. I've not tried their new car scent yet.

cs-x3 is so old school. ive used it in all my cars. the squash is the best smell and everytime i have passengers, they always comment how they love the smell. i would recommend it, but only if ur willing to switch out the cartridge every month.
|
When I was in high school I had a Celica GT-S and was a ridiculous Yo. I had about 40 magic tree air-fresheners hanging from every place you could imagine. It was all because of the line from the LL Cool J song, "Boomin System" that said, "crazy air-fresheners who needs cologne".
|
I have an Air Spencer CS-X3 in my car. Get either the blue one (Squash) or the red one (Crystal?). Good stuff. :D
|
i have the blue squash air spencer, and it is by far the greatest air freshener i have used.
In terms of how long it lasts, don't expect much.. especially if you like to drive with your windows down. But the fragrance smells great.. one setback is, the refills cost 8-10 bucks and they dont last as long as you expect them to. What i usually do is end up putting the used refills in the glovebox or center console (since they still give off a little bit of smell). So you should exponentially refill less frequently. |
squash is def. nice. i've ordered them in bulk off ebay and i love smelling it in my car, they last long too!
|
My car is 3 years old now (time flies!) and the aircon smells a bit mouldy on start-up, despite me using one of those aircon cleaner aerosols - which are a total waste of money - so I mask the smell with a vanilla one of these....

of course, now my car is squash-scented, so whatever :hello: |
vanilla ozium, close thread...forgot to mention this is coming from a smoker : )
|
I don't use air fresheners and I would not advice using them unless you need to get a nasty smell out of the car. The green freshener trees were proven to cause cancer of the mouth, throat, and larynx. One may exacerbate the risk if he/she is also a smoker.
