OEM 2013 Front Bumper Can be Replaced with 2012?

So the 370z community is 50/50 on this and you guess it
the 2013 new face lift vs the 2012 and under...
Why they took out the fangs? Im sure its so people know its different....
I liked the Fangs.... You think we can replace the OEM from 09-12 for the 13???
If you heard of such sorcery please do tell...I cant find a 2012 Pearl White Sports Packaged 6MT Anywhere in Jersey.....Or even NY as a matter a fact... Koeppal Nissan had one...for 42k Da Fq?
Need your help...Im reluctant to get the 2013 one due to the face lift....
Opinions and Advice please....

Well the general shape of the front frame/bumper on the inside can't have changed much. It's certainly possible, maybe even high possible, that all of the basic mounting is the same and you can basically cosmetically swap in the 2012 bumper. Someone would need to at least take a close look at both to confirm that though, and then try it out for real.

On the good-looking ones, there's 6 nuts along the center of the bottom underside edge that go to the undertray. Another 2-per-side on the underside out at the corners (going up into plastics, the outermost also through the sport package front tire mini-spoiler). Then there's the hidden phillips-headed bolts (one per side) in the outer upper corners (pull back the plastic of the wheel well to reach), and the 6 or 7 plastic push-pins along the top edge just under the front edge of the hood. Even just someone confirming all of those bolts/holes match up would be a good start.

i would bet they are pretty much the same especially since the nismo bumper didn't change. all 350z bumpers from all years are interchangeable as far as i know as well (with other 350's, not 370's that is)

Is it really? Not that I would be surprised.

:iagree: I'm sure it should be a straight swap other than the wires for the LED's.

The fangs are still there, they are just a bit thinner and black now. Here is a quick Pshop where the fangs on the a stock 2013 bumper are color matched.

The nissan site still lets you build a 2012.

Dear God 42 for a sp 6mt I paid close to 10k less for mine in March PW 6 6MT with basically a loaded SP trim Every option you can get outside of touring and Nismo packages dont let a dealer have you.... but on the other hand the new wheels look terrible too... and thats a bit more pricey to replace rays quality wheels than just a front bumper. But hey if you like the wheels go for it im willing to bet the bumpers are interchangable with no problems other than securing LED wiring

Did you pshop the whole bumper (that's seems like overkill if you did) because the color match from the bumper to the hood is horrible.

cheshirecat 01-24-2013 07:04 AM

looks like the hood has the shipping film still on it.

Lemers 01-24-2013 08:02 AM

Your right I see it now.
