My black CF appears to be ok. Of course, it doesn't rain here ;)

EVOR 10-26-2012 10:02 AM

Yes. Flat black one I'll replace with new acrylic back end. I'll need to get factory to make them. Might take awhile. But I'll get it done.

Silver are made with plaine weave carbon. As for the flat black back plate problem I will have some made with acrylic hard back plate. Will have these done once I get back from SEMA in Las Vegas. I have not got a chance to reply here since I was on the plane for 13 hrs.

Jay,
Just sent you PM with my request -- love the emblems, hate the backing plates. New backing plates will make these emblems perfect!

Thanks for the great customer service, please PM me if you need more info.

Thanks,

I didn't want a backing and liked the satin silver look so I went ahead and ordered the eBay one, front only.

Boost_lee 10-26-2012 10:30 PM

Yea I got my flat black backplates...they are not paper, but they are just a cut sheet of black vinyl. You should be able to separate it and peel. Not a good option, but I'm glad EVO-R is taking care of this.

Do mean a thin sheet? If so it will still easily deform.

The back needs to be hard plastic...

Yeah, it's literally vinyl cut straight from a roll. Peel the paper back and stick. At least this was the case with mine

Boost_lee 10-28-2012 03:00 PM

Here's my badge.
Chrome badge that I plastidipped (just in case I want to go back to chrome)

What did you use for the backplate? I was too impatient and just painted the CF and it doesn't look so good...

Genius boost, sheer genius! You've inspired me.

To indulge my total OCD instincts, I started thinking about how to make this even better, and this is what I came up with:

I saved the plastic dealer plate that came with my car, and will use that material for my backing plate. I'll then paint it Gun Metallic to match the car. As the ultimate bit of anal over-obsession, I'll cover the backing plate with a piece of Invisishield (clear bra) to protect the paint from chips.

Supplies:

1 - dealer plastic plate = free from dealer

2 - aerosol touch-up paint = automotivetouchup.com

3 - some clear bra = invisiblemask.com

There's even a 10% code off the price of the film "10OFF"

I'll let you guys know how it turns out in a few weeks when I get around to doing this little project. :tiphat:

so i got my emblems today with no backing... i love the quality  serious perfect in everyway... i threw em my z.... the front knocked me off my socks... totally a perfect touch.... top notch... sorry i didnt take a pic... :shakes head:

then i threw on the back z... and it was ok... it didnt do much for me... i guess its the way the amuse bumper is... it doesnt "flow" as i imagined it to be.... im thinking of getting a fairladyz badge and a small nismo emblem just to fill in the emptyness....

There was one thing however i am going to change... since the emblems are meant to go on the factory bumpers with the factory recessed hamburger area the shape really doesnt make it flow for me.... in fact.... i dropped my emblems off today LOL to the body shop they will shave the hamburger shape and make it a full circle  i should have the emblems back by next week... going with a satin finish :happydance:

cooltoy 10-30-2012 10:05 AM

Looks great.

Did you try to see what it would look like under the wing above the bumper? Do they sit flat on the inside were the back-plate would be, or is there space?

Hey! How come I didn't get a sticker?

bro thats a genius idea... i definitely gotta try that out when i get them back from the shop....

i got a sticker because i told jay he could use my car  on his website haha

as for the space i didnt notice them not sitting right they were pretty flush

cooltoy 10-30-2012 08:00 PM

Cool.

EVOR 11-04-2012 08:00 PM

Just want to make things clear. We use real carbon rear plates. They are no cardboard print on with carbon look. The 3M rear adhesive cover looks like paper. But if peel off you still see the carbon material. See below.

That looks nice. It would look even nicer on the front and back of my car, but I guess that's not to be. I ordered my emblems in AUGUST and still haven't received my back plates yet.

Come to think of it the only thing I HAVE received is a hassle and at this point I am thoroughly disgusted with the situation. I have been understanding and accommodating of the delays and excuses but there is a point where I just have to give up. How many times will I have to give you my contact information to get the job done?

Don't worry, I'm not going to go through the trouble of filing disputes over $80 worth of plastic, but as a businessman and a sponsor of the forum you should be ashamed of yourself Jay.

mardigras 11-07-2012 08:11 AM

I also had to cancel my order due to waiting and had to file a dispute to finally have him contact me...

cooltoy 11-07-2012 10:03 AM

I had no issues.

let me know what you guys think.... i whole shape is a circle i had my body shop friend shave the wings that made it look like a hamburger

pf62 11-08-2012 07:29 AM

Looks very nice like that, good job.

cooltoy 11-08-2012 08:06 AM

simota1 11-08-2012 02:05 PM

ill take some pics in a few hours  a couple minutes after that photo was shot there was a huge thunder storm that came outa no where :shakes head:

No issues here either. Is it possible Hurricane Sandy is impacting the situation?

No problem. Just let me know when you need them. Probably best to order the badges with any backing so that they can be used to cut the new ones.

Have you ordered the badges yet? Seems like there may be a Hurricane Sandy-related issue with delivery/communication.

Nope, but I will be sure to get them with a back so I can use it as a template. I think I've got your email or I'll get it from Tracie and let you know when I'm ready.

EVOR 11-11-2012 10:40 PM
