help on wings

Alright - new to site and proud new owner of 2010 370z touring/sport package black. Want to add Nismo wing. Really like Evo R High wing from what I've seen - closest to OEM. Also that mounts to existing mount holes. But, like other "FRP" I'm scared to the quality I'll maintain after painted and cost at body shop to prep. Heard Siebon carbon fiber option good - just primer and paint over carbon fiber finish. But, not as good looking as the Evo R and will need new mounting holes. Or, do I buy Nismo wing from Nissan - even though didn't show anything on their site but the spoiler - no wing. Need some expert advice here - all help appreciated.

I recall something about not being able to buy the nismo wing unless you have a nismo (nismo vin). The Evo-R is a little bit taller but is really popular on the forums.

a few people recently priced out the Nismo wing for their cars and it was going to cost some where close to 2 grand for it. the Evo-R high wing can be had for about a grand, bought, prepped, painted and installed. That seems to be the going price around here for it. Add ones are nice but i personally like the high wing or Nismo, i have the high wing on my car and i love it. I have no complaints of the quality or fitment. i think there's a few photos in my album of it. I've been meaning to add some more. maybe later today i will

Greeting, both wings are great with the nismo body or a body kit for the 370z but without either; the wings doesn't flow with the body line design.:ugh2:" consider amuse back end if you end up with this wing ...
"Both high wings and amuse reproduction rear end will run the same amount as the original nismo stock wing..

I like the seibon NSM wing. It's not overly aggressive and flows well with out some sort of body kit or lip kit and its the same as the stock nismo, minus the center post.

Quality is really good on the Evo R. Just make sure they secure the middle post or it will bow when it gets hot. They glued mine on. No issues.

Stay away from the FRP Nismo replica wing. Needs alot of prep work and is fiberglass.

Im slightly confused by this statement, could you clarify a little more?

cuz the Evo-R wing is a Nismo replica and made of FRP.

and as a side note to the above mentioned, yes, do have the center securely mounted cuz that seems to be the only complaints people have, the bowing during extreme heat. My shop did great prep and made sure the center was secure. No complaints here what so ever

Does the center post have any advantage versus not having one like the Seibon (structurally, performance)? Does Seibon bow without it? Or is it just a "look" thing.

The EVO-R Is NOT made of FRP. It's made from ABS plastic. And it really is not a replica as it sits 2" higher and the ends do not angle out like the real Nismo. But still it's very close and most importantly way cheaper than the real one.

The FRP Nismo replica looks exactly like the Seibon wing. But no CF. And as you know, no middle post.

the exact description from the Z store who is the main distributor for Evo-R's products

"Description:
This wing was modeled after the rarely seen NISMO multiple level wing (which sells for multiple times more!). It is made of durable FRP, and is slightly taller than the factory wing. It simply installs using the same mounting holes as the factory wing."

im not saying your wrong, they could have made a mistake in their description, im just going on what i read when i purchased mine. yours is a high wing, isnt it?

none the less i recommend this wing as a nice option, its like a nismo but not quite and i found the fact that it uses factory sport holes the biggest contribution in my decision as i didnt want extra holes drilled in my hatch.

Yep i have this one. Well They are wrong. Ask EVO-R. Plus I saw it before install and it was all plastic. No fiberglass.
