Emblems look good but the wing looks like an aftermarket wing that was never finished.

Emblems look good
I'm still debating on doing mine, I have a can of Plasti Dip, either that or I buy the oem gloss black version. I agree with you, interesting contrast on the wing.. |
I like :).

I did my front bumper, emblems and rear bumper with plasi-dip. Painting your door handles with plasi-dip is a bad idea. When the plasi-dip hardens and turns into rubber, your door handles will evenutally start peeling when you keep opening your door. You should take off your door handles and paint them black with spray paint.

How did you manage to cleanly mask off the underside of the spoiler. I want to do it as well but I feel like it's going to be messy without the right technique for the underside.

I cant get my rear diffuser...2 tries and I just get ugly uneven lines between those ridges in the back..
any tips for doing sharp clean lines? |
If you properly prep and clean the area you are dipping it will stick that much better. My door handles are pretty damn good considering they have been dipped for a while now and even through winter they are still holding up. Only a little bit of peel on the inside of the handle.
As for emblems you dont have to take them off to dip them. The hard breaks between the emblem and the body are enough to allow you to peel the excess off... make sure you mask the area good because overspray is a bitch to get rid of. Clean lines have to be done with a good "heavy" once over coat and then quickly take the tape off otherwise the line will not be clean. There are videos online dipyourcar.com and youtube. The "creator" of the technique just recently did an entire R35 (black on yellow) and it came out pretty damn smooth. He had a lot of hard break lines on that job. GLWS(praying) As a last resort you can always take the parts off and send them to mike@thepowdercoater (the metal parts anyway) to get them done permanent! :-) |
Well done. Best mod for the $ spent IMO. lol

Emblems look good, Front bumper Fangs look good, but the spoiler i'm not a big fan of.
