Go look at DTM race cars....those things are really all canarded up...front and rear fenders. Unlike our NASCRAP "stock" cars, they (DTM) really do use the actual car shell or body for race cars..so they needs lots of aero effects.

On DTM cars, the only part from the production cars is the roof. Rest of the car is tube frame with cf body panels.
Back on topic, canards not only produce downforce themselves, but modify airflow to other parts of the car which can reduce drag or allow other components to generate additional downforce. |
