My Front Lip Is Loose :(

3 Attachment(s)
Yesterday I was forced to park in a small lot with tight spaces. I had to move as forward as possible since I didn't want my rear sticking out and risk getting bumped. I went a little too far and the black plastic front lip spoiler thing got pushed against the curb. I was only rolling slowly but it was enough to scrape and push the 2 right clips out from the bumper.

I tried pushing them into the hole as much as I could, but the clips don't snap/engage in. Am I screwed? Is there any way to get the clips back into the hole? The plastic is pretty soft so I think maybe the clips or spoiler itself got a little warped?

I'm sure some of you have removed/replaced that lip before.. the clips are supposed to just snap back in easily right? I just got the car and I'm so sad! <sniffle>

Mine did this I am taking it to Nissan and having them remove it.

sorry to hear! if you aren't confident with the front because you've just picked it up in spaces like that, try reversing as the backs much higher :)

hmm have another go at clipping it in, I'd jack up the front and get underneath so you can see whats happening.

When I picked my car up, the same side was actually hanging out a tiny bit and I had to clip it back in, salesmen probably did the same thing you did or when it was coming off/on the delivery truck...

definitely jack it up though and get your head under there, make sure nothing behind it is broken where the clips are meant to sit in. Worst case scenario you might be able to get some 3M tape and maybe put it back on if the clips are broken on the bar? let us know how you go :)

besides the two "clips" on each end, there are also 8 metal rivets that hold that plastic aero piece in place in the middle. you probably popped one of those out, and now it's stuck and won't go back in (they are a huge PITA). like others said, jack it up and get a light under to see what is going on.

to be honest, that lip is going to take a beating. try not to lose too much sleep over it ;)

Thanks for the advice. I'll jack the car up soon as I have time.

I'm actually pretty good/confident with the car.. it's just one of those things where it was a pretty high traffic area and I knew I was as far forward as I should go.. but cuz of paranoia and 'just a tiny bit more' tried to force it by rolling a few more inches forward. Stupid me :owned:

Hopefully that's the only/last time I'll ever hurt my baby again :(

Click on 'View installation instructions' link here - this shows you how the ends are mounted - apparently, they don't just clip in. You may be able to do this from underneath without removing the front bumper - after removing the undertray...

the edges are fine. your lip wont come off. just push it back in.

the end of the spoiler has 2 push in clips. the rest is riveted in. So the ends do tend to come a bit loose when you scrape, but can just be pushed back in.
