Hey guys, good thing that it wasn't my Z, it was my dad's Altima.
We were going about 60~70mph and this f*cking truck flied a stone and
my front windshield got cracked. I'm so pissed right now. Is there some kind
of film I can apply to my Z's because I don't want that to be happened on my Z. Any ideas for a prevention guys? Thanks

this worked really well for me but its only for small cracks:
Griot's Garage Windshield Repair Kit - Griot's Garage

How big is your crack?

dudesky 04-02-2012 02:23 PM

It's pretty big bro...damn...I ran to autoshop and they said it must be replaced. I don't usually trust them but, it gets bigger and bigger everytime I drive.

sorry to hear. :( yah, i saw a post by someone that a clearbra manufacturer (forgot which one) is going to be releasing clearbra for windsheilds soon.

dudesky 04-02-2012 02:36 PM

Sucks man, sorry. Yeah large cracks can't get repaired... Coming from experience I had to replace my windshield on my other car one week after getting a new one :(

I had a coke can fly like a ninja star into my windshield leaving cars and coffee. Have a surface split maybe 1cm, I've just learned to live with it

How much is an OEM windshield from Nissan anyhow??

Mr.kenchan, that was me, I got a stone chip on my windshield last week and I post in the other thread saying there might be a clearbra for windshield coming out later this year.

While my friend was having his VentureShields installed in Dec, the tech told him they are testing on the VentureShields that is for windshield. They are not sure exactly when but since it is new so they still have to do some testing first. But yes, I probably be the first batch of customers to have it installed once they push it on the market.

:crying: All my years of driving and the Z gets a chip and then turns into a crack. Terrible.

Juruki 04-03-2012 03:55 PM

i think we have weak windshields. When mine got hit, the impact didnt sound that bad but my windshield still cracked

Skull Crusher 04-03-2012 04:12 PM

Most Porsche dealers install clear film on the windshield. It's about $300.00 and last for around a year.

USMCASA 04-03-2012 05:41 PM

make sure who ever you take it to does it right, by right i mean they have to remove the brace over the engine to make sure it properly seats on the glue around the base of the windshield or you will have whistling noises...

iSteve370 04-03-2012 05:47 PM

Take it to Safelite, they can repair chips and cracks if you don't want to drop the money on a new windshield.
