MATTE Finish Carbon Fiber Pics
3 Attachment(s)
While I was doing my center console mods, I sent out my radio trim piece to Tony at CarbonFiberElement. Since I wasn't sure what thread to post the pics in, I just started this one so it didn't get lost in all the other carbon fiber threads. This way it will pop up on search faster for those looking. There aren't many good pics of matte out there, so I thought this one would make it easier to find.
I had him do this trim piece for sure because I REALLY didn't like the plain black plastic. I had 2 other parts in mind, but I wanted to get this back to see how it looked. I think it fits in awesome. It's mello yes, but I REALLY like the difference, and now I think the center console looks awesome. I think the matte finish looks really classy, much more sophisticated than the plain black that was there before. So right now Tony is working on the only other 2 pieces I want done, the door switch trim panels. I will post more pics of those when I get them. The other unique thing I had him do was run the fiber at a 45 degree angle (normal it runs 90), so the visual lines run up and down (vertical, not at 45). So it gives it a different look also. Anyway, here's some pics (and yes, as you will also see, I put in a new head unit with steering wheel control, added USB & Mini-Jack plugs & a non-slip rubber pad to the storage area for Ipods / Flash drives, did the leather boot for auto mod, and made my 3 dummy switches into working garage door openers - not shown). |

Looks good though, I like the subtlety. |
dont be hatin on the auto guys. that boot for not only cosmetic reasons, also keeps all the darn dust and what not out of that area, which is a pain to clean
|
Thanks for the compliments everyone.
I'll post more pics of the door switch panels when I get them. Until then..... :driving: Cheers --- Bonzo  |
door switches yet?

I'm really liking this Matte look, it almost blends in perfectly with the stock leather. I might go this route myself for the center console. Also really liking the 45* offset to make the lines run up/down. Matches the symmetry of the center console.

For those of you wanting to do the door opener thing, there is a thread out there showing how already. It wasn't my idea for sure, but it turned out well I think.
I do have a bunch of pictures that I will post to my old thread. When I get that done I'll make a link here. Done. Here's the link to the first post with the directions..... http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...ml#post1728931 |
