nightshades tips/tricks
Just wondering if anyone that has done this could provide any pointers.
Is it a must to take the taillights off or can I just tape them off? From my understanding, you just apply 2-3 coats then wetsand and apply a few coats of clear. Thanks in advance. I think the ones in this video look fantastic. 370z painted lights - YouTube |

Don't sand the nightshades it won't be even if you do. I did 3 coats of night shades 3 coats of BASF clear coat . Step 1 sand lights with1500 grit wet paper 2 clean really good 3 apply nightshades 4 apply clear 5 sand and buff any imperfections when the clear dries. Here's some pics.

my tip... you can get paint thinner by Testors (model paint) for Metallizer and you can cleanly remove niteshades if you mess up. :)

oh yah, while you're at it, buy a can of motor spray. it is an all purpose cleaner.... can do tar removal, remove any oils, and dries clean, no smell after it dries (unlike brake cleaner). i have a can in my garage all the time.
