@Nitex

Is there any gaps on the edges on your Highwing?

Verbal21 04-30-2012 05:30 PM

Anybody have a template they'd be willing to share with me? I'm just very nervous, as I've never done anything like this before.

I can not decide between this or the Amuse... ARGH! My Z is Monterey Blue... I am so torn.

The only other mods I might be doing is blacking fangs/rear, black/darkening wheels and painting calipers.

Cant go wrong with the Amuse or the EVO-R, its grown on me i love mine! Keep in mind fitment is not perfect but its good enough.

Yes, there are some gaps. Even with the outer bolts connected it seems the EVO-R high wing does not completely conform perfectly with our hatch. I still love it!

The car seems to get a lot more attention now! Just adds that missing component.

Another quick shot at work

after how long.. my wing is having a problem... when it gets a little warm out, I guess the ABS plastic deforms... it bows up and the tape in the middle of the upper half doesnt hold it down... but when it gets cool out it looks perfectly fine but the tape still doesn't hold. When I'm on the free way i guess the cool air flowing over it cools it enough to where it sits back down on the base of the wing again...

I thought this wing wasn't supposed to deform...

ill take pics when i have time

LakeShow 05-02-2012 05:37 PM

^^hmmm that doesn't sound good. I wouldnt want it coming a little loose or anything at all.

its not loose... all the bolts holding down the base it fine.. none of the bolts that hold the upper wing down are loose but the middle bow'd up enough to where it doesnt make contact with the base or the tape... and then when it cools down it sits back down... I don't know what going to happen when I move down to SoCal in 2 weeks.

What i think is when bodyshop paint the wing, they filled the little hole on the top tip of the wing. Those holes (L/R) allows air flow in and out inside the wing. Cuz when it is closed up air inside will expand, cause the wing to blow up. Original Nismo wing is also designed this way. This is why we have those holes also. Please check make sure. Thanks.

EVOR 05-02-2012 11:47 PM

Carbon version! Made in 3K cross weave carbon fiber. I'll test and see if this fits on stock Nismo wing. I'm sure lots people going to ask me this.

k20z3 05-03-2012 02:20 AM

Im on the fence about this one...

LakeShow 05-03-2012 08:28 AM

Is the Carbon one same dimensions as a OEM Nismo wing or same as the regular EvoR high wing?

VDC_OFF 05-03-2012 04:45 PM

wow, would like to see pics of the carbon one installed. Will it be all carbon or just the top?

It looks to be the exact same as the Highwing.

Looks like just the top from the pics. The beige color is the unpainted part that needs paint, just like the regular one.

Romulus1 05-03-2012 07:27 PM

Mine goes on next Thursday finally.. Lookin forward to it

...on a side note, my systems get fixed too, too bad my FI Exhaust won't be here till July lol it'd be like christmas

Evo-r customer service kinda sucks. I really afraid of buying stuff from them and get no response whatsoever

Just FYI my middle portion tape does not hold the 2 pieces together either. I have added more double sided 3m and yet it STILL doesn't sit flush(bows up). I try not to look at it but deep down its bothering me.

Also I would like to add this has been since day 1. And that was not a hot day!

Wing is completely secure obviously just the top and bottom pieces will not connect flush at the middle support beam (2 piece wing). I have thought about a stronger adhesive but i don't want to ruin the wing.

My holes are also not painted over.

thats what mine looks like now too

tjlazer 05-06-2012 03:33 PM

I think they used some kind of glue to secure mine on. I told them about this issue before the install!

as long as it's secure and not overly noticeable, I don't think I'd worry about mine as much.

CCastro 05-07-2012 09:38 PM

Its secure but that's not the problem it bows up... More ocd than anything... Im probably gonna go with the aerojacket type 3 once i finish moving

Verbal21 05-07-2012 09:54 PM

Got my car back today and while it does look great, I did notice theres some gaps and the fitment isn't 100% flush but my shop bolted them on pretty good and I understand how OCD can drive you crazy, but I think I'll get over it. I'll try to post some pics up this weekend. It's gonna rain here all week.

flip4life90 05-09-2012 02:49 PM
