Ok looks like just the push pin locations need to be filled. They are talking about filling it with some urathane to prevent leaks..

Also noted that the wing doesnt perfectly conform to the slope of the hatch. I think they just need to bolt the thing on instead of just holding it up there.

I put covers with silicone on my holes. The wing conformed better when i tightened all 4 bolts down.

Hey CC, how did you access the outer edge bolt holes in the hatch?

We are thinking about drilling a small access holes to get at the outer attach points.

Quick teaser pic, wont be finished till monday.

I didn't... I just did the 4 main bolts and the rest is all double sided tape

Nitex 04-20-2012 05:42 PM

Hmmmm... i would love to have it attach at those outer points. But maybe its not worth it.

If i did drill 2 access holes in my hatch it would be unnoticeable once the trim went back one. And much more secure i would think.

I have till Monday to decide.

Getting the rear splash guards installed as well, they came in today. Not sold on the fronts guards with out the front lip spoiler, then it just fits.

Picked up the Z. I am very happy.

WOW TJ that looks amazing! You have me sold. I'm looking to do a full Nismo Conversion myself and was trying to figure out how the rear spoiler would work, looks like there's a solution. How much was the paint and install?

Nitex 04-20-2012 10:50 PM

^^ Looks great TJ! Definitely a better overall size than the stock nismo. It just fits the nismo rear much better IMO! Also did you attach the outer holes to the wing or just double sided sticky like CC? I was thinking about drilling small access holes in the hatch to attach at those points.

Unfortunately I'm waiting for the shop to repaint my hatch. That's what i get for not being able to get my car in the garage. I high center on my driveway ever since i lowered, and the weather is just ruining my paint. It was obvious when we compared the color under the stock sport spoiler to the surrounding paint :shakes head:

It will cost me a lot to redo my driveway. And I'm not sure what it takes if i have to modify the curb here in WA.

But i really need to get my car in the garage!

^^Wait, why are you getting your hatch repainted?

The paint under my stock spoiler was a different shade of PG due to sun damage from being outside for so long. The EVO-R high wing does not completely cover the outline of the old spoiler. Respraying the hatch is just to even out the color where hatch meets up to the EVO-R wing.

We did not bolt it up to see if it would have been tolerable. But a few scratches from removing the old spoiler pushed the decision to respray.

Looks like TJ had the same issue with the scratching.

Thanks, yes I think this looks great with the Nismo body kit. $600 for paint and install.

TJ, any idea if they bolted up the 2 most outer locations? or just the 4 bolts on each side of the brake light.

I payed $600 as well, but they touched up a few rock chips and painted my fangs black.

Also really quick is there a gap between the hatch and wing? Second pic from the bottom looks it may not be flush with the hatch. Could just be the angle and shadow.

tjlazer 04-21-2012 11:41 AM

There are some gaps on the edges. I don't think they bolted it at the ends.

I feel it may help pull those corners down a bit If I attach the ends.
