Amuse rear bumper help
 

Hey all I have an original amuse rear bumper, anyways when installing it, the body shop guy told me that there is no where to put the bracket that holds that trunk open button, that is on the top of the number plate, hope u guys know wht I'm talking about loool and he told me that he can remove that from the oem number seeing that it's part of the bumper, so anywyas he told me that he needed to fabricate the bracket to put the mechanism button that is used to open up the trunk, he did that and installed and painted the bumper, a while later I see this ugly scar like some kind of bumpiness in the middle of the bumper on top right where he installed the bracket, when I confronted him about it he told me that there is nothing he can do about it cuz the bracket he installed is putting pressure which made that happen, I know sob right, my question is, to you guys who have an original amuse rear bumper, wht did u use to hold that mechanism used to open the hatch ( hatch opening button) and what should I do now remove that bracket that the sob installed that caused this ugly scaring ? If so what should I do or use to put the button in place as I don't think amuse put that option in the bumper, please chime in guys as I'm taking the bumper to another body shop to get repainted and wan to get rid of this ugly scare :tiphat:

With the amuse rear bumper it doesnt have bracket to hold the truck button open. What your going to do is take the bracket from your OEM bumper and place it in the same location with your amuse bumper and screw it in. The amuse bumper that we make has a piece that screws into the bracket so there would be no medication of the rear bumper towards the license plate area.

But the oem bracket in the bumper is kinda stuck on there, that means I'll have to cut it or else how do I remove it? And if I install that on the amuse bumper and repaint won't the scaring in the paint appear again, why do u think it happened in the first place? Iv never read this happen to anyone before never even knew that this problem existed

its not stuck, its screwed in. The trunk button will have to be installed from the inside of the bumper thats not being painted. Not only is the trunk button is there, the license plate bulbs are there also. Its a simple unscrew from oem and screw it in on the new bumper. Its worse comes to worse your going to have to make a small bracket to make it fit but there should be no need to do that.

That's exactly what he did, he fabricated a small bracket to put the bulbs and button, tha bracket that he fabricated caused that scaring in the paint on the bumper according to him, because it added pressure or something like that, now my main concern is why did this scaring happen in the first place? Was it because of his cheap paint job? And if I repaint the bumper which I will have to now will this problem occur again?

ITs called he doesnt know what he is doing lol. No paint should have been messed it during the process. What needed to be done it take the old bracket from OEm bumper and place it in the new bumper.IDK what he did. He may caused extra work to get extra money.

Bringing this back from the dead... anyone have pictures of how they mounted their rear license plate to their authentic Amuse bumper? I am thinking I am maybe missing something? Definitely doesnt seem like there is a way to mount it..

Can't you attach the stock bracket?

The easy way. Drill two holes through the bumper and use the bottom holes on the license plate with nuts and bolts.

Not as easy, cut slots instead of holes like above and use speed clips and screws instead of nuts and bolts

More difficult fabricate a bracket use some Norton Speed Grip to adhere it to the back side of your bumper. Bracket can be made from any material you choose. I made a bracket from carbon fibre. It is like a piece of angle iron but made from carbon fibre. The bracket also supports the flimsy bracket used for the rear license plate lights/entry buttons. I went a step further and did something similar for the top of the factory bracket that holds the license plate lights.

Hope that makes sense.

Basically, consider a situation like this as a blank slate, you are only limited by your imagination.
