Not true. One day I took out the G from the garage to give it a wash but I left the key upstairs in my house. It started just fine. |
Thanks for all the replies. It was Schaier's Nissan in Long Beach. I really liked them except for the alarm thing. We were in and out in 2.5 hours and they treated us pretty decent.
I've started the car with the key and then had a friend run like 20 yards away and nothing happened. Not sure if that's normal or not. And the car wasn't in motion. Just parked and on. I'd like to have a nicer alarm system, but didn't want to pay all that extra for it. |

Totally depends on what RF noise is going on around you as well. In fact the manual states if there is too much RF interferance you may need to put the fob in the fobgina to get it to work (er maybe they didn't use the term fobgina....)
|
Fobgina? That's good, I like that.
|
...of course you do - who doesn't like fobgina? Esp now that its a technical term....
|
Interesting... I couldn't even unlock the doors without the key being within 2-3 feet of the car. My M35 won't start without the key in the doors as well.

Me too!
Hey guys, my first post. I just got back to New Mexico from California where I. Ought my 2011 touring sport. I am replacing my 2003 g35. But I digress. The dealer wanted 900 for this extra security system. I also said no way and they came back with a cheaper price (did the same with the extended warranty which I also said no to because I know I can get it cheaper). The dealership was in El Cajon Ca. I bought this car so far away from home because it was pristine and still has 8 months of original 36 k/3 year warranty. The only hemmed was that it only came with 1 smart key fob. Will be making a separate post on that as well
