Does anyone know how to remove the panel on the side of that bar? I am trying to fix a rattle that seems to be where that bar is against the car or panel... Any help would be great. I would think that bar is removed to be powder coated??

^^ carbon fiber might look better and less tacky than color matched

to the OP, what color is your interior is it leather?
Another option is to get it wrapped in leather, you can run stitches in various colors etc. I was going to have mine wrapped in either persimmon or black leather and then fairlady z stiched in the opposite color. But then the strut bar i purchased never got delivered and i gave up. |
i like the idea of carbon fiber or burnt titanium over the blue.

Looks good in CF. Im basically getting rid of all of the silver bits on the interior and the strut bar is one of them. |
^^is that actually a wrap? I have the 3M carbon fiber stuff and it looks a bit duller

My next mod.
In order to get at the bar you have to remove all the trunk plastic, the small saddle piece over the bar are clipped under the side moldings. There are only two bolts in the back. Start from the center rear of your trunk and work to the left and right. I learned it from searching the sound deadening threads. Trunk removal is in there. 10mm bolts are located where the hatch screen would be placed. Good luck and Godspeed. |
