Sounds like this should be a sticky.

Thank you I did not realize anything was wrong until 2 years after I have the car I still could not program the homelink.

Trilitheum 01-18-2013 08:09 AM

That was the first thing I noticed, I must have sat in the driveway for an hour and a half trying to get that thing to program.

I didn't realize what it was until my OBD II port had no power and I traced the fuse and found the switch.

This saved me a bunch of hours. thanks Guys!

just another FYI: if after you push the extended storage switch the problems still persist, try removing the switch to check if the fuse is blown. To remove the switch, just push the top two corner down and the bottom to corners up and pull straight out. I had this problem just now and after removing the switch i found the blown fuse. now everything works again! again big props to trilitheum for helping out. definitely gave him a rep point

This is exactly why I love car forums. There's an answer for almost any question or problem you have. You guys saved me potentially hours of troubleshooting and a possible trip to the dealer. Thank you so much!

Awesome post! I've been a lurker for a few months digesting all of the great information here. Finally found a 2013 370Z - Solid Red Touring with Sport and Nav. I had to drive from Dallas to Houston to pick it up. After a four hour drive home I was annoyed that the AC wouldn't hold its last state, the clock wouldn't hold time and the trip computer kept reverting to the mileage "bar graph". I hadn't gotten to the home link setting yet but this was driving me crazy. This post fixed everything! As many have said before me, THANKS!

Just wanted to bump this thread, as it helped me out the other day. The OBDII port on my '12 wasn't working, and I had no idea why until I stumbled across this thread. Turns out that my switch was not "activated". I pushed it in and my OBDII port started working right away!

I bought the car used last spring, so I don't know if the switch has ever been "activated".

in other news though, i would still have the battery on a battery manager during hibernation.

Absolutely no need to disconnect the battery or push the "hibernation switch". Just put it on a battery tender, pressurize the tires to 50 psi, throw in a little SeaFoam and tuck it in for the winter.

Exact same situation, unreal...

Just received my Actron CP9125 and have had similar situations in the past where discount tire could not read the port.

Thank you so much for this!

I had trouble with the homelink and this worked perfectly.

I've had my touring sport for years and never even realized that it wasn't properly set up. I finally needed to use the home link and couldn't get it set up and ended up finding this thread when I was trying to diagnose the issue.

Who knew the car was supposed to beep when locked/unlocked?!

Thank you! was getting ready to go to the dealer!!!
