hks camp 2 engine monitor
Any one familiar with this system? I have some questions about it if you do thanx.
I have it. What would u like to know?
i was told it only shows on the screen when your stopped? Is it worth the money in your opinion?
I have it as well. You absolutely can watch it live. It depends how you have it hooked up. Mine is run into an aux video port on my Kenwood headunit. I can watch it live. I've got the boost and oil pressure sensors on it as well.
well im gonna do a custom center dash with a 7 inch screen and a 7 inch double din underneath and im trying to figure out a way to move the ac controls. I basically wanna have the whole center of the dash with two screens and my turbo controller. I wanted to make sure it will show while im moving with a aftermarket tv screen.
yep definitely will. I've wanted to do the dual screens as well. Who's doing the work for you, do you know yet?

Nah. I didn't swap out my navi. It's all stock except I got the navtool hook up for an aux input that way I can still listen to music while driving

[QUOTE=theDreamer;1477002]That is going to be tough to do, unless you are going to custom fab you control knobs and probably have to extend/move the AC control box.[/QUOT
I dont think itll be hard I think itll take some innovation. Just have to see how much space I have to work with. were gonna tear it down and see what we got in the coming month or two. If not then its no biggi I just thought it would look real cool with the ac knobs and all gone and it just be one big flush plate with two screens and my greddy boost controller in between. I havent started yet I just thought about it when I was on the thinking pot aka the shitter lol. |
Anything is possible IMO just depends on how far you want to push it to. The wiring harness behind the HVAC and head unit doesn't have a lot of play for you to relocate something unless you can have a piggy back harness made just to extend it otherwise the only thing you can do is ghetto chop it and solder it. Just keep in mind once wires are cut your factory warranty for the head unit and nav is voided.
I dont have factory nav and if I drove my car to the dealership and asked them to warranty anything theyd prolly laugh out loud literally lol. Especially if they opened the rear hatch or the hood lololol or even if they looked under it. Im sure theyll have to be extended. I just have to find a place in arms reach to put them. I was sitting in the car a lil while ago and I cant think of a place to put them so i guess there gonna have to stay but we will see.
you could put them in the arm rest console. Extending the wires will be fairly simple actually.

What would I have to do to make the HKS Camp2 work while driving with the stock Nav screen in a 2009 model? NavTool?? Would I lose any functionality doing this instaill. I really want oil pressure and am trying to decide if doing this route would be more cost effective than tearing down the dash to install dedicated gauges in the stock 3 gauge pod. What are your thoughts?
