Smaller mirrors?

With some companies making carbon fiber replacements for the Z, you think one of them might make smaller more sportier looking side mirrors? I looked around but didn't find any.
The one one the Z right know are kind of big LOL. I know it's already hard enough to see anything with the blind spots an all, but I don't think smaller side mirrors won't make that much difference either.

shabarivas 05-19-2009 08:44 PM

I bet you ganador will be making some... but probably gonna be bank. What someone needs to sell is a blind spot eliminator mirror attachment... either a blinking led when someone is in your blindspot or a differently curved mirror that sits on the top the stock mirror and points at your blindspot.... that would be sweet...

510z 05-19-2009 10:40 PM

who needs mirrors? take em off...

tcs also makes carbon racing mirrors but dont know if they have any for ours yet.

Gaiiden 08-16-2009 11:51 AM

I'm bumping this thread because the side mirrors are my biggest gripe with the 370. They are HUGE. Sometimes they can blot out entire cars. Anyone install slimmer mirrors yet?

frost 08-16-2009 12:04 PM

Would be in for some smaller mirrors.

I'd like to have someone design a sticker like this for my drivers side mirror:

frost 08-16-2009 12:13 PM

Design it? It's $5 over here:
"OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE LOSING" sticker

:icon18: Ok, the worst thing is....I googled the image....THEN you found the sticker.....AND WORSE....the photo I googled is where the sticker is being sold. Good lord I suck.....:shakes head:

frost 08-16-2009 12:17 PM

You get the thread on the vehicles Blind Spots that everyone complains about, now it becomes the mirrors are to big. Seems kind of odd. Knowing what's behind you is just as important to what is in front of you.

this has noting to do with 3/4 blind spots. Some people don't like adjusting their mirrors properly so they can see adjacent lanes (my friend likes seeing a little of his car) so lack of usable C windows has made this a bigger issue in the 370. But my blind spots are fine, I just need better 1/4 visibility

I've griped about the blind spots from the quarter window, but mirrors don't really help that view. And the only time it's an issue is when I'm pulling out of a parking spot. So therefore, smaller mirrors are still desired.

Not really what's behind you - so much as what's next to you.

I couldn't care less about what's behind me.

shabarivas 08-21-2009 10:48 AM

Someone should put G35 coupe mirrors on a Z ... im sure they will work :)

Gaiiden 08-21-2009 12:04 PM

I've been wondering if the 350Z mirrors would work...

That's what I meant...Sorry, I was speaking double dutch.

blackbird 08-21-2009 06:06 PM

Don't have blind spots beside or behind me (except short people or cars) but I do to my right. I stopped at mall intersection, looked left, checked right and pulled out. The guy coming on my was very unhappy about using his brakes, mentioned something about my relatives. So I now look right, left and right one more time.

Gaiiden 09-03-2009 10:00 PM

Still wondering if anyone knows whether the 350Z mirrors will fit on the 370Z mirror mounts. Better yet if someone's already tried it.

kenchan 09-11-2009 07:54 AM

I too want smaller side mirrors. Each time I'm making a lefthand turn I feel like I'm driving with my eyes closed. Its a safety concern for me.

I can see the rearsides just fine.

Anyone know when the Craft ones are coming our for the 370Z? I don't want any univeral fit one.

Z1Performance 09-11-2009 12:43 PM

ganador doesn't use carbon...in fact, they are the absolute worst carbon type pattern I've ever seen. It looks like it belongs in a pepboys isle next to the generic colored wire loom stuff

kenchan 09-11-2009 01:54 PM

these are the mirrors i want...
they're about $500 a pop, but they are vehicle specific. they dont have one for the z34's yet.

Craft Square

this is for the 350z

been on my Z since '05 :)

black base version

I am sure a 370Z application will be in the works, as they recently have added the GTR and Evo X to the roster. I'll see what I can find out.

They also have a universal version, which we've used many times, for cars that have no specific part # offered.

kenchan 09-11-2009 06:20 PM

Z1- yah I think its just a matter of time. Id be interested in getting a pair.

I donno which would look better... Silver base on my silver Z or a nice matte black base with the CF mirror housing.

I think I might go with the matte black.
