UAM experience?

hey folks

I am looking to order the Amuse Vestito CF kit from the fellas at UAM.
From what I can tell they make an excellent product!

As I have never dealt with CF before I am just worried about fitment.
For those of you who have bought from UAM, how was the fit and how happy are you with the product?

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post on here. Thanks guys

cheers

PS... the guys at UAM have been excellent at corresponding and I will post back on this thread after I receive the kit early next year.

Always had good experiences with andrew. the kit fits really close. it is not JDM and some work will have to be done (ie finish prep, holes drilled, etc nothing a good shop could not handle or yourself if you are somewhat handy) so I would give it a 7 out of 10 (BTW my grading for even the AMUSE product would probably be 9 out of 10 even if it was perfect.) But from past experiences it is way better that other kits I have purchased in the past and if the finish work is done correctly you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two side by side. You would not be disappointed.

Mike and andrew, both great people to deal with and they usually answers your inquiries within a day or two, but not so much on follow up wise. I am still waiting for their response for my quote.

The original Amuse was full of fitment flaws and we initially sold straight reps at that point. We actually have made revisions to the kit to make it fit better hence why fitment is soo great. Several other companies sell the reps as well but I do not know if they addressed the fitment issues of the original kit... We are always looking at ways to better our products so if you ever have a suggestion let us know via PM or a phone call

No personally experience but install should be a breeze considering their rep plus its only part CF if I'm not mistaken unless you're going $$$ with their full CF so any reputable shop should be up to the task.

We ordered two for some customers and had major fitment problems... that was back when it first came out...

I bought two whole kits and issues. There's always work to be done for the kit.

Thanks Mike and Andrew for the quick response, and yes i am well aware that you guys are super busy that is why i wasnt pushy about the issue.

bullitt5897 12-06-2011 04:04 PM

for body kits, some kit will have better fitment then others even from same mold(body shop told me)

i have the replica amuse kit from shine auto(same kit UAM offers, UAM made it and offered it). The body shop was amazed with the fitment! but depends on the skill of the body shop. i took it to two shops, first shop fit the front bumper like crap, had like 1 finger gap below headlights.
second body shop fit it really well. but there was a crack due to shipping. BUT, Ken at shine auto handled my insurance claim and i got my money for fixing the crack

I have the UAM kit and fitment is perfect for me. I asked my body/paint shop if they had any issues when installing, and they said no...

Just my :twocents:
