carbon license plate trim

Any pics of the carbon fiber license plate trim/insert? Looks good in marketing pics, but may be tacky in real life

saw some around the forum... yes very tacky

Depends on execution. Looks fine to me. Make sure to apply some RTV to hold down the frame to the plate before screwing it down.

IMO that block of black on the rear bumper looks out of place. I could only really see doing it on a black car.

DIGItonium 11-17-2011 03:51 PM

Ooooh gotcha. Yea, that's a bit much IMO. Most of the CF pieces aren't perfectly smooth, so the waviness gets annoying.

When you come down come by my house, I have some of the CF overlay that you can have to cut out and put on there to give you an idea of what it may look like. but IMHO this piece looks out of place.

I have an entire box left you can play around with. I bought it to try a project and only use a little.

How difficult is it to wrap the diffuser. is the stuff hard to work with?

kellyefields 11-17-2011 05:16 PM

heat gun/hair dryer, one of those tint rubber squeeges, and a razorblade is all you need. As long as there is not two many curves it is pretty easy to work with.
