Possession is 9/10 of the law. I guess if/when I get one in camel-fur color, I can call it that if I want. |

Planning on N Arkansas right up next to the Missouri state line. People there are better in my experience, the roads are awesome, land is cheap, the economy is repressed, and I love land/being able to shoot, etc. in my back yard so to speak. |

But for reals, that's a tasty interior color. |

I just porter polished my blue. It took about 6 hours but wow what a difference. I may buy black again after now jumping into the polish group. I owned several black cars and couldn't get myself to buy another because of how hard it was to keep looking good.
|
I don't like the red as much as the orange, but at least it's not just some shade of grey. I feel like all car companies sell too many grey interiors.
|
I need to order some new stuff for my PC.

Also, Zs do NOT have a single stage paint...they're all a basecoat/clearcoat formulation. The easiest way to prove this is to use some mild abrasive polish on your car. If the paint were single-stage, you'd see the paint's color appear on your rag as you polish. This definitely doesn't happen with the Z. I can say from experience that the Scratch Shield paint is a royal pain to detail. It's very hard and only responds to certain polishes designed for hard and/or ceramic clearcoats (I use Menzerna polishes with some success). Even then it requires more work than a "standard" clear to remove defects. And I've yet to notice the self-healing feature actually work. |

There was no oil cooler installed in the US version either! Plus you get the fog light this way too! |

The Juke has a similar shape, but I know first hand, the Z's is nicer. The GT-R wheel would have been nicer though....although that might upset some GT-R owners, lol. That would be a cool mod come to think of it. It would go well with my GT-R starter button :icon17: |
Hrmmm. That gray doesn't look so bad. More of a "platinum" type color.
|
The lighter color interior is what i have, it's called stone white.
|
The first Z I test drove was Chicane Yellow with Stone White interior. I liked it, but I was too worried about how well the color would wear. Figured it might get dirty or stain too easily. Plus I have always liked dark interiors.
My favorite color combo for the Z is the 40th, though. I love that interior. |

Well, black is out. Guy who wraps all my cars is strongly against it, and if he says it's too much work, I promise I will think so even more. Recommended gun-metal gray. Leaning heavily toward it and a gray interior. That gray looks platinum.
If I got black interior, does Nissan offer stitching preferences, or is it all material-color? On another note, a nearly full wrap with Avery Nanofusion is only going to run me about $1300. Includes front, mirrors, lights, rockers, whole hood, whole fenders (front and rear), and 50% of the roof (might upgrade to full roof, likely will at this price). |
No factory stitching options. Easy upgrade though.

I promise that a competent shop will charge you more than $1300 to re-paint rockers PROPERLY and PM them well, especially with your silver paint. Silver is a flat out BITCH to PM. Just changing the air-pressure will change the hue of it. Flat out nightmare. I'd rather not. |
Little late on this but damn I wish I got my Z in any color than BLACK!!!! I am not a fan of re-painting as well just because for the cost I can just go with FI!
As for swirling... Like another member posted on here on page one I think, if you take care of it you will have no issues which I have been but I am getting really tired of taking my sweet A55 time washing my car to prevent this so I plan to vinyl this b-otch soon, thinking of satin gray... or white...or dark gray... still trying to make my mind up. Hate to thread jack but any suggestions guys? :)) |

^ I know right, the perfect color and wheels stance combo period.
|
Almost every Z comes from the dealer covered in swirls regardless of paint color. I decided to hire a mobile detail guy for less than $300 to restore the paint. It was worth every penny to have the swirls removed and the brilliant deep finish restored. I hired the guy back in April of this year and I have used the ONR rinse-less wash process ever since. Nearly 7 months later, it's still swirl free.
The trick is buffing out the damage (either DIY or pro) and using a protective wash method to prevent damaging the paint again. |
No swirls
I have a black 2009 and have no/minimum swirls. I always use Mcguires Ultimate Detailer after every drive. Its a pain but if your the kind that warrants perfection, then you have to work on it. I've even been complimented by a black Corvette owner that I have a great paint job. The Vette is black. ( after reading my post)

I don't understand why you're coming back to a 370z? You could have bought an aftermarket oil cooler to get rid of the "fatal flaws." I think it's just because you're sick of having a base car that you see in every block. No wonder you stayed here to troll around.
