Long and behold. The UAM CF Mines Add-on Review

Alright guys and girls, I know this has been asked many many times to see the final product of the CF mines add on. Here is the picture and my full review.

excuse the iphone 4 pics and bad lighting. I'll try to get more shots tomorrow during day time.

heres the spoiler by itself

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo-8.jpg
Test fitting. everything seems to line up perfectly
http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo-7.jpg
Bolted onto the spoiler
http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo-6.jpg
Bought these black screws at Home Depot for $4
http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo-5.jpg
How it looks when the trunk is open
http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo-4.jpg
Test Fitting still....
http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo-3.jpg
Voila - all done!
http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo-2.jpg

Now boys and girls, here is my review of the product...Overall build quality is great, no scratches or dents and not to mention FITMENT is spot on...However this whole process has been nothing but pain for me. It comes with double sided 3m tape, 6 I believe screws, I was consulted by them that if I didn't want to drill into the spoiler just use the tape and some silicone sealant but I opted to drill into it because I don't want it flying off once I hit high speed. And I do want to take this time to let everyone know that I was in the first GB and suppose to receive this wing a while ago but it dragged out for 2 1/2 months almost. I was at one point ready to give up doing business with UAM and Status Auto AKA VIP STATUS. I do want to shout out to Andrew for clearing everything up with me as that he has no part in delivering the product and was always waiting on Rick to give him the updates, no hard feelings Rick but I think business shouldn't be ran like this, I was promised that you'd give me a call to let me know if I can come and pick up the spoiler tonight but I never got a call back and when I did call the store after 6 PM nobody answered. I went on a limp and drove out to Gardena anyways because I actually live about 40 miles away from them. Got there and what do you know? There was about 6+ people just hanging out playing video games and working on cars but none decided to answer the phone. I'd think a business that's run like this would be out of business in no time. I'm not here to bash but coming as a paying customer that paid FULL 2 1/2 months ago I'd expect to receive better service. Not to mention that I showed up at the shop 3 1/2 weeks ago when they said it was ready but left empty handed because the delivery guy never came. I don't know why it took another 3 1/2 weeks for delivery as most things I order online comes the latest 10 days...Regardless the product is top notch and I think I would continue to do business with Jamaica @ UAM and Mike @ UAM but I wouldn't dare to purchase anything again from Status Auto as my experience there has been nothing but bitterness....

That is HOT!!!!

bullitt5897 10-20-2011 11:58 AM

Jake,

Thank you for your pictures and review of the product. I would however like to set a few things straight. The only involvement rick has in our business is to help connect hands between us and certain manufacturers to allow us to deliver to you the customer hi quality parts. Also, Rick is helping us with storage space since he has much more space then us. The problem we ran into with producing these spoilers for people was our own fault and had nothing to do with Rick. We have learned a few lessons with dealing with our new manufacturing partner who also does work for large companies such as BMW and the like. Again, the delay was our fault and not Rick's!!! Rick has been kind enough to help us and we are working through our business processes to make working with us much smoother.

For the time being we will only be running GB's for Our products... what this means for you the customer is lower prices because we have lower costs. Once we have built the capital to start holding a large enough inventory. We will be able to ship the same day you order. Again we are starting this from the Ground Up! I want you guys to have the best buying experience and the best deal possible. If you have any problems please come to me and I will get them resolved. The more demand we have for products the faster we can hold larger inventory and the faster we can get you guys products.

Best Regards,

Mike

JakeZ34 10-20-2011 02:01 PM

Mike - I'm not blaming Rick for anything all Im sayin is the follow up was very poor from him. It seems like I'm the one contacting him rather then him contacting me. There are websites made for reviews. And I'm on the forum because that's what a forum is for. Freedom of discussion and to also share my experience. I just know that with this type of follow up I wouldn't do business with them again. As a paying customer I should be treated like one regardless of the dollar amount, that's just the principle of a successful business. I know both you and Andrew cleared a couple of things up with me. But I just didn't like the fact that I was promised a phone call last night to confirm if I can do a pick up and I was never called and it's not like when I got there everyone was busy. People were just hanging out and playing video games. What if I had drove out there again and they were closed? Who's going to pay for my gas? I drove out there last time round tripping 80+ miles and nothing was resolved besides. Oh we will call you again when it's here....what of that had happened again last night? I was suppose to be contacted to let me know if someone's ping to be there

bullitt5897 10-20-2011 03:34 PM

No problem Jake

I agree with you whole heartily! The problem is that Andrew or myself should have called you. It's not rick's responsibility like I said earlier. His employees are not aware of our sales or deliveries or pickups. I make daily calls to Andrew and Rick. I knew your part had arrived however I was not aware that you were supposed to be called back to pick it up. Again this is what I was reffering to a problem in our processes that has been adressed and remedied. Again, it was mine and Andrews responsibility to call you an let you know a time you could pick up your part... Not Rick or his employees. His employees are not aware of our customers. They just know inventory came in and it was our inventory. UAM should have handled your service better and I apologize for your first trip down that left you empty handed.

For those of you who want to pay the extra 200-300 for the original + shipping go ahead and your wait time will be similar. The wait time was our fault and will be corrected on the next GB order.

Oh no I did get confirmation from Andrew that it was ready to pick up. I just called Status to make sure they were open and available. That's the least they can do when they promise to call me atleast make that call.

OP: wing looks great  is the install (drilling part) relatively easy? anytime i see the need for a power tool and the Z i think twice.

Yeah I agree completely on the whole replica vs orginal. Not everyone can justify spending that much money on a little add-on spoiler. I thought it was amazing when UAM decided to make one because I have been eyeing that spoiler since day 1 but couldn't find myself spending that much money for just a little wing. In the end the fitment and quality of this add-on is SPOT on quality is top notch if not just as good as the Mines one from Japan. But again haters will keep hating and that's the cycle that we live in.

Kenchan - Yes it was super super easy to drill. Took less then a minute and no problems at all.

tjlazer 10-20-2011 05:37 PM

It looks really good. Good job. Also give them some slack, they are not a huge company that rolls out thousands of these a day.

SINZ 10-20-2011 06:20 PM

Looks good jake! so you got to black screw from home depo?
it looks easy to install. So who do i pm to get one?

bullitt5897 10-20-2011 06:23 PM

You can PM me to get on the next list.

Mike

Thanks again for your response JAKE

Fast intentions is not a huge company and they, or should I say Tony manages to keep customer service at top priority which is why the company is a success in this forum. The product UAM is selling seems to be of good quality and something I would want to buy but its a shame they can't run a business properly. I asked three times to get on the group buy and I have yet to get a response about it. I wanted it at first but now I don't because UAM doesn't give a crap.

phelan 10-20-2011 06:34 PM

I suggest leaving vendor issues and concerns in a separate thread. This is not the proper forum to air grievances against businesses, or another real vs. replica argument, which I am quite frankly tired of talking about. Keep discussions on topic to the product being discussed.

Thank you~

Jake - when you coming back to the meets? Would be nice to see this in person next to Trip's FRP one!

Trips 10-20-2011 06:36 PM

Jake, It came out looking great

Everyone Needs to KEEP IT ON TOPIC!!!!

Amuse370z 10-20-2011 06:42 PM

I find vendor issues and concerns much more valuable to me.

I was looking at some Venaci wheels...after checking out the thread which I believe is locked now, I will not be getting them no matter what.

phelan 10-20-2011 06:44 PM

I am not questioning that vendor concerns should be aired. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO DO IT.

This is why I addressed the concerns and issues in Jakes post. We value our customers and their experience with us. If we make a mistake we own up to it no matter how much we may not like it. Mistakes were made in the timeframe and delivery department.

We are also not as big as some may think... This is a crazy time of the year for us as we have several project cars that have been getting ready for SEMA.

As for the Venaci ordeal you can PM me and I can give you the real rundown on what happened. Many members who came down to Z nats heard the truth and have decided to lay off VIP because of it. Do I agree with how it was handled NO... but thats a conversation for PM's if you are interested.

Mike

JakeZ34 10-20-2011 07:52 PM

Yes I started this thread purely to do a review for Andrew and UAM. I do plan to keep it this way and didn't want it to turn into a replica vs real thing deal because quite frankly I'm on the same page with Andrew K that it has been DISCUSSED AND DISCUSSED thread after thread. I only want to give me two cents with the experience that I had with this particular order. I know mistakes has been made but they were properly address by Mike and Andrew themselves which I have nothing against them now. We all make mistakes, one thing I didn't understand was that I was promised to be contacted last night regarding whether or not I can pick up my spoilers but I never got a call back like I was promised. It's almost like a car dealership saying "hey we'll call you once your car is delivered but when the car is at the lot they never call to tell you to pick it up. Anyways back on topic. Lets let Mike and Andrew do their thing and I can tell you I will do business with them again because the quality and finish product is above and beyond. Just I hope I don't deal through that same channel again. But to answer Andrew K's question. I am going to try my bestest to make it out to the November one. I literally have been so freaking busy. And trips Thanks! I do miss you guys.

The carbon weave is really wavy.

Are you sure those panhead screws you used aren't going to pull through the carbon at speed?
