What you guys think?:p
It's a Carbon flat black layover
Real carbon fibre add on under side

initialgemini 05-09-2009 12:53 AM

Interesting lay out. Its definitely giving the car a little more character, but with the grill overlay and the top it's like a gtr-ish/evo X kind of look.

VIP-STATUS 05-09-2009 01:09 AM

I know,in the end out this month i will repalce all this with my body kit
front,side and rear anyway:yum:

I'm looking forward to pic of the sunline bodykit on your car.

wstar 05-09-2009 02:15 AM

I don't mean to be rude, certainly to each his own, and making a car look cool is always cool...

But the point of carbon fiber usage on performance cars is to drop weight from the OEM metal parts. A carbon fiber overlay just adds weight, which is the exact opposite of the originally intended purpose.

nizz23sd 05-09-2009 02:29 AM

i knw what ur saying however the roof is the main structure and balance of the car..you can get a full carbon fiver hood fender or any other parts and that would reduce the weight problem of the car.

I agree, a carbon roof would probably help this car, if it were lighter than the stock metal one while maintaining enough rigidity. Taking weight off of the very top of the car is nice, because it lowers the center of gravity to boot. But a carbon piece that simply slips over the existing metal can't do anything but add weight, and raise the center of gravity.

Edit:

But I'm trying not to be too down in my opinion, I don't mean to be a hater. It looks really nice, and we all make tradeoffs in the name of looks at times :)

SoCal 370Z 05-09-2009 02:35 AM

I believe that the carbon referenced is a vinyl; the side skirt add-on is actual CF.

crbn_fbr 05-09-2009 03:18 AM

What did you use for the grill to make it black, thats not carbon too is it?

AK370Z 05-09-2009 03:56 AM

I LOVE the front grille section. Matte Carbon overlay?

Frick@DDM 05-09-2009 05:07 AM

The Vinyl Accents are very nice. And I love the side spats! Nice job. What kit is going on the car?

Endgame 05-09-2009 08:07 AM

I am more interestd in the side spats... Look good!

wstar 05-09-2009 08:55 AM

Oh it's like a vinyl sheet, rather than a hard piece?

M.Bonanni 05-09-2009 10:11 AM

Any shots from under the car of the sides? How far underneath the car do they go?

VIP-STATUS 05-09-2009 12:45 PM

It's just vinyl guys.just for look's.:p

Namir 05-09-2009 01:08 PM

I think it looks great. The car looks much more aggressive but with only subtle mods.

CBRich 05-09-2009 02:19 PM

Can we get some full car pics of the front bumper? Maybe like a front 3/4 view.

nogoodname 05-09-2009 02:56 PM

this roof overlay is nice, much better than having an actual CF roof cover..... just wait til the mastergrade folks come on over here.....lol

molamann 05-09-2009 11:43 PM

Hmm, are full car overlays an option? :D

Bump :)

RCZ 05-10-2009 08:12 PM

I hope you mean the color of carbon and not carbon fiber for the "overlays".

jdlnmia 05-11-2009 08:19 AM

Roof overlay = Rice.
Roof replacement in carbon fiber = Nice

nogoodname 05-11-2009 08:21 AM

ok, you'll guys see what i'm talking about within a few weeks or so, it's not that nice looking after all the CF roof

NA&CH 05-11-2009 11:29 AM

Looks great Rick. Going for a sunline matching car?? :D What sides are those look like the old Varis for the 350 :D

Chris

shabarivas 05-11-2009 11:42 AM

Might look better with a flat black to match the grille area

I feel the same way, but if the 370Z is like the 350Z in this regard, the roof itself may not be removable. A full CF roof such as on an e46 M3 would be a much better if possible.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with accenting the lines of a car with alternating color schemes, or two-tone livery. It flows well with the lines of the car and looks good. Since when is looking good the essence of 'rice'. You are far too quick to throw that out there and likely derive your opinion from internet boards where kids just throw out that stickers are rice. Not all modifications have to result in a performance increase, especially a street car. Which brings me to the point that if you are in fact such a track performance snob that holds no value in looking good, why in the hell are you in the interior exterior section to begin with? Troll much?

VIP-STATUS 05-15-2009 10:52 PM

Seems like some of the new 370Z guys didn't come from a 350z.
If anyone was ever on my350z.com you can see the way all the JDM guys do the 350z.
I mean we just didn't it for look's and for fun. When you get tired of it you just take it right off easy.
I know leaving it stock is cool for some too.
But i think Z's was make to be mod!
Well for me i'm not going to sit in front of the web looking at pictures for 2-3 year's before i start my mod's:p

when the guy comes on this site, he makes decent, not best CF parts & fitment is crap.....it's not easy to make a roof cover because the edges of the roof will show...... so pretty much ur gonna pay like 500 bucks for the CF and then end up painting the edges black and use a ton of double sided tape to hold it in place.....that's rice...well expensive rice.. :rofl2:

a simple overlay goes from edge to edge perfectly and costs WAYYYY less...

ducky 08-24-2009 12:46 AM

who made the side skirt?

BTW the Cpillars come off and a roof overlay will fit the edges underneath it. Also, you will only need 3m tape along the front leading edge and the rear trailing edge. Not that much tape actually. I should be getting mine from Spawn Aero soon *fingers Crossed* and when it comes in I will do a full write up on the install process along with a product review.
