Got hit and ran. Just a question

So I came home and I found a couple of i guess licensed plate dents in my rear bumper. It doesn't look like a big deal but it looks quite ugly. Just a question on how I should deal with this. Does this look like it require a new paint in the rear, or what other options do I have? Thanks!

Picture is quite small, but I'm guessing you're going to need it filled and painted.

Yep, there's no other way. Take it to your dealer or body shop and see of they can do a spot repair. Some of them can do a great job, lifetime guarantee.

An ok repair here in the US would cost about less than $200 to fix that. An excellent repair would cost about $450 (this would involve repainting your whole rear bumper). That would be done from a professional painter. Had my car quoted from a professional coz I have bunch of nicks and scratches on my front and decided to have a quote for the whole car while I was there. Someone may tell you that you can have it done cheaper elsewhere.

--EDIT--

Oh, and what Kenchan said too.

So.. I have two options? One is spot repair and one is repaint whole bumper? Can someone clarify this for me?

Do the whole bumper.

I work in a body shop the spot in repair looks good for 3-6 months then you can see where it was blended in.

As far as painting the whole bumper that's not the case the holes will be repaired and color will be applied to that area blending the color within the bumper then full clear coat across the whole bumper, that is the best way to do it.

If you are going to paint, please only do the bumper. I don't care how good a bodyshop is, it's never as good as the factory paint. You are better off with a riding with JC sticker or something.

^^^ agree and disagree.

IMHO, paint could not get any WORSE than factory Nissan paint.

However, the quality and consistency in which it is originally applied is typically much better from the factory. Which is what I think you mean.

But ya, the paint on the 370z is garbage. Worst paint i have ever had, aside from my original 350z paint. I cannot wait to get my 370z repainted, the car looks like crapola.

I have to disagree:shakes head:

I would much rather have our paint from my shop on it at least it stands up better to all of the rock chips better than the factory paint on the hood.

The problem that people have is they pick a body shop, then have a bad experience and now anything other than OE sucks, the real problem is most everybody doesn't understand the paint/body process there for can't properly pick a shop to do a good job.

Both my bumpers, both rocker covers, mirror caps, strut bar,and miscellaneous parts were panel painted pearl white(which is one of the hardest colors to match)and they look better than factory paint and the front bumper stands up to rock chips a lot better.

You're better off doing the whole bumper, good body shop around here it's ran about $750 each time for me. Also factory paint just sucks to be honest, any vehicle I've had repainted it looked far better than factory.

Alright, so I guess redoing the bumper is the way to go? Alright thanks for your inputs guys.
