EVO-R Fog Flash Kit

First of all, thank you chuckd05 for the great price on the rear fog flash kit! He shipped it on the 24th of August and it came in the mail today. Here's a pic!

So.. what's with the extra pill? lol..

I am hoping to get this installed tomorrow or early next week and then I'll have more pics or maybe a video the following day.

UPDATE *09/07/11 - Wednesday*

I got the fog light installed a week ago.. Just had the time now to start updating stuff on the website. But anyways..

There were three different wiring that came out of the fog light.
One for ground. One for STEADY power (Dim). One for FLASHING power (Bright).

I had the steady power tapped into the brakes instead of the park light so whenever I step on the brake the Fog would come on. I had the Flashing power wired into the reverse to have that F1 style flashing every time I am backing up.

When the steady power comes on its NOT very bright. If you want to have it do a low ON then SOLID HIGH then I suggest purchasing the regular fog lamp as this assembly will do you no good. I've heard that there's a member that was able to let it flash 3-4 times then get it to stay solid. He was also able to incorporate a traffic mode which enables the fog light to NOT flash seconds after hitting the brakes again, but rather just come on STEADY HIGH. I've seen it on youtube.. and I've yet to contact the guy on how he did it.. but for now here's a vid!

I did..
Brakes ONLY
Brakes + Reverse
Park lights + Brakes
Park lights + Brakes + Reverse
in that order.

that looks like Neurontin (gabapentin) Capsules for insomnia...

not sure though... lol

Good luck with the install! the pill is ignorable, rather flushable.

I'm thinking of getting that pretty soon, can you give me the info where you got it thanks. And looking forward to more pics and how it went. Good luck

As discussed before, you might want to check into your state's laws. Most places don't allow flashing red or blue lights.
Sorry to be a downer.

Dammit. I've seen a few Mustang 5.0s with flashing brake light so I assumed they would be. Can someone in CA confirm this??

Got it from a member here. Just heard about the possible flashing problem in CA so I'll keep you posted.

V C Section 24602 Fog Taillamps

Mine is always on when my headlight are on. And flashes when I'm reversing.

There's a law that states that as long as the light only blinks up to four times then becomes solid.. it is not a ticketed item. But, I think that only applies to motorcycles ONLY. Even just having it solid on.. the driver has to be able to turn it off at any time.

Dammit. Just like not having a front plate.. I'm going to have to try my luck on this one :ughdance:

Good luck yes here in Chicago is illegal as well to what I know, but the cops here just go for trouble makers lol. I got stop a few times and they just let me go they see primary INS and everything so they don't bother but they have the switch to it ? To turn it on and off whenever you want to ?

Im a Police officer in Florida...Having a flashing red or blue light on a vehicle is illegal, no matter where the light is placed or its purpose..The same law applies in CA as well...If u are pulled over for it you can get a ticket as well a having to remove it or make it so it doesnt flash. I have the fog light on my Z as well but it doesnt flash.I think the F1 style flashing is neat, however. Not all officers will pull you over and ticket you for it, maybe just pull you over and giving you a written warning to remove it, or to inform you of the legality of it....It does give them a reason however to pull u over without anything else being wrong.....Escpecially if u have had a few beers and your heading home, its a headache you dont need.....It is however in my opinion a neat upgrade, just be careful..and good luck...

Thank you very much for the feedback! I have finally made a decision to simply tie solid power to brake and flash power to reverse.. so it only flashes when Im backing up audit turns on whenever I hit the brakes.

Another question.. if solid power is wired to brake does it make the EVO R on when the park lights are on and gets brighter when I hit the brake??

FLORIDA370Z 08-28-2011 03:26 PM

my fog light is not LED but just a bulb...but the bulb is a dual filament...My light has three wires...A red/white/black....My black is tied to ground..My white wire is hooked to the running lights(parking lights) and the red is wired to the brakes....So when the lights are turned on the white lights them up, and when I hit the brakes the red lights the second filament in the bulb to make it get brighter...I not sure of your wiring but I would have to imagine it would be the same....
