check sweep at start up? I would miss that!

The ProSport gauge do just that... they have an opening and closing ceremony . sweep. They are really nice. I believe there is a video on their website which shows what they do during power on/off

Wow just saw this thread great job I have the same gauges . I started taking out my dash to put mine in ,the route you took looks a lot easier.

Sweet mod! I'm waiting to get my new gauges in this Monday as well. I'm not sure how the tech is going to approach the installation, though. I don't care if he breaks the old one apart lol. Looking back, i wish I got the 4-in-1 gauges from Depo. It has an analog gauge with OLED display for 3 other parameters like voltage, water temp, etc., depending on the selected model.

It has been a couple years so how is the modification holding up?

As to the OEM gauge mods: No - Unless you pull out the whole dash... I just took out my gauges via elbow grease and a bit of dremel action... You will end up with aprox 100 pieces +/-... Theres 2 solid plastic long bits (with the gauge backing) with circuit boards sandwich'ed in between. I just assaisnated the oem gauges.. Now its time for test fit on the BF gauges..

^^^In other words, this is not as easy as the OP had done it?

I am looking at adding gauges, and would really like to go with the OEM look, but if it is a nightmare, I would steer away from it.

The best gauges project I saw so far, amazing, well done.
I really wanted to replace the clock gauge with oil pressure or trans-temp (A7).
Could you please advise in case I want to replace the clock gauge only, which product you recommend to match the others?

Thanks,
NASM

You just can't do one gauge. You have to do all 3 gauges. Under the dash. The gauges are really just one piece.

Ok, got it, I just saw a video on YouTube. However, it is not clear yet from where to buy them, and which model ..

I know it is Defi but is there any recommended place (online) to get them from??

And since I am going to replace them all, then I would go for engine oil temp, battery, trans-oil temp.

Thanks,
Nasm

I went with SpeedHut gauges. Oil pressure, Water temp, and Diff temp. Have mine installed in the cubby hole in the dash.

The switches are for the Yaw sensor, Diff cooler pump, Diff cooler fan.

I decided to change my analog Speedhut boost and wideband gauges with their digital gauges. I called and asked if the change would be a plug and play swap and they said yes. I received my gauges and the boost gauge was plug and play. I went to hook up the wideband gauge and the plugs were completely different. I called Speedhut back and they said "oops, you need the AEM wideband controller for that gauge". I said fine, when can you send me one. They said, "we don't stock it, you need to buy it directly from AEM". AEM won't have in stock until sometime in March. :shakes head:
