One of the guys I work with has a brother in-law that works in that service dept. So he called and told him my story, I guess he talked to someone at Nissan for me and now they are going to order the panel. I guess it helps to know the right people.

Yeah, I would have felt better about it if the service manager responded to my email, although I can't be positive that he ever got it.

What's the status regarding this obvious manufacturer's defect?

Parts are not yet available, they called me today, and they are saying June 14th, so about a month off, I guess it's to be expected on such a new model.

Excellent! I'm assuming yours was a fluke and not something the rest of us have to worry about. It has been really hot here quite a few days, and no interior splitting so far.

Anyway, I came out of work today to find this. Apparently the interior got too hot and split. :eekdance: I was headed to the dealer to pick up a part, so I talked to the SA. He said he never seen anything like that before. He said he would order a replacement panel and it would take about 5 days. He never mentioned warranty though, I'm assuming this would be covered, right?

That would definately be a warranty issue.

bro next time just use a windshield deflector.. gonna keep ur car cool, ur leather cool (if u have the touring).. and not gonna have any problems.. Ive been using those deflectors since I got my first car and never had a problem with the panels. :)
