Who wants downforce?
 
Voltex might be releasing a wing for the 370Z.

This piece will significantly increase down force towards the rear and will be a great benefit for those of you who enjoy tracking.

Any idea of the specs on these (like, what speeds they're appropriate at? how much drag and how much downforce they provide at a given wind speed, etc?). I'm not a potential customer, but I'm just curious what such an aggressive wing really does under what conditions, or what types of racing its most appropriate for.

Voltex offers different specs when they produce wings. Based on previous experience with Voltex, this wing will probably range from 1400-1900mm. It will more than likely be produced in FRP, wet carbon, and dry carbon. A wing like this is best used when on a track with a lot of tight turns. This wing should significantly increase downforce; only reason I say this is because one of my fellow peers uses a Voltex wing on his S2000 when he tracks...his wing creates so much downforce that it actually dented his reinforced OEM trunk. Depending on your priorities, this is either a huge plus or huge frustration. As most people know, the more downforce you have, the more drag you have. So for tracks with a lot of straights and less sharp turns, you might want a wing with a little less downforce IMO.

You would have to define "tight turns". There would be negligible downforce until at least 60-70 mph.

Problem with these rear wings on our kinds of cars is that without matching front downforce you would just end up with lots of understeer. The rear would stick like glue while the front skips.

yeah, its a good bit harder for our street cars to produce enough from downforce to be able to use such an aggressive rear wing. Its pretty, but only if you have a race car. Might be able to get some df up front with a big APR splitter and a nice front bumper. Otherwise...all show.

This is really a track piece, where it will look at home and actually be able to do what it is intended to do. :)

Excellent point...depending on how you go about modifying your 370, A front diffuser and some canards might do the trick.
