CarbonSignal 05-23-2011 02:22 PM

ok guys, an update :)

1st, i would like to thank Nitrouz for the efforts and input he was giving in, and actually we were somehow planning to do this design as one-Off for him, but since he saw the comments of the guys was similar he was kind enough to let it go to production :tiphat:

and as token of appreciation to the support from Nitrouz, we are changing the name of the spoiler to:

CarbonSignal Rear Spoiler Type-N

2nd, i would like to thank all the members who was giving input. we really appreciate it.

3rd, the pics below again is not for the finished product, we have made the tuck-up higher than what the actual product will be so that we can have more room for adjustment until we reach to the exact height. we did make the sides thinner and closer to the sides of the OEM spoiler.

4th, still inputs are welcome. we are so glad to involve the community in our R&D..

at last, sorry for the quality of the pics as it was taken by iPhone, i had to do the test fitment and pics quickly and the lighting wasn't so good.

Looks good. Waiting to see a final version!

Nitrouz 05-23-2011 02:34 PM

yup just a bit lower curve...right now it resembles the Aerojacket one but I want one with a slight "flatter" curve in the back. But the overall concept is great with the add-on thin lip wing.

RoshDawg 05-23-2011 02:36 PM

Wow this is a great looking slip on! Tuck up might be a little too high, but I love it non the less! Especially that little tuck in on the back of it.

yup! The idea is to paint that little tuck on the back of it (lower part) to make the wing look more "oem" to the car and sleeker, while the rest is CF.

Wow this is really going to look amazing then. Carbon fiber look + OEM feel. Best of both worlds!

yeah sure :)

we made it higher in purpose, so we can keep on grinding down till we reach to the desired hieght. :happydance:

Nitrouz 05-23-2011 02:46 PM

grind it baby grind it!

kenchan 05-23-2011 02:49 PM

Nitrouz 05-23-2011 02:49 PM

I know it's not done yet, but I just really have to say...the service received from CarbonSignal has been simply amazing. It's like going to a 5 star hotel. Attentive, focussed, and customer-oriented.

Thanks Naj for all your hard work so far. It WILL pay off. :)

so going back to my question, how does it mount to the wing?

Nitrouz 05-23-2011 03:36 PM

That will all be figured out soon. But one thing's for sure...no exposed screws on top. ;)

KaienZ34 05-23-2011 03:43 PM

Maybe just blend the circled sections more.

cool! i dont mind the screws actually as long as it's titanium and either torx or hex. would suck to have regular screw head on there like those worm clamp screws. :rofl2:

kaizen- if you blend the rear stock spoiler pillars (or watever it's called) would it look like a huge blotch of triangle? :ugh2:  :icon17:

KaienZ34 05-23-2011 04:12 PM

I was just thinking it looked a bit blucky where it meets with the stock wing in the back. Also make it come out on the sides to meet the stock wing on the hatch.

Truth

docaam 05-23-2011 10:22 PM

looks nice  but as you said there will be some grinding, it will come out nice.

I will still wait for V3 to mould on my trunk:happydance:

Isamu 05-24-2011 02:31 AM

im digging it!

VaGntlmn 05-24-2011 06:42 AM

looking good!!
Will there be a one piece to replace the factory spoiler using the factory installation points?

KaienZ34 05-24-2011 10:26 AM

This one will be a slip-on. Next one a full replacement.

phunk 05-24-2011 09:02 PM

while i am liking where this is going, i wanted to share what idea i was originally thinking when i desired a duckbill style add-on.

imagine something very small and thin, sort of like the stock 350z wing... i am imagining an add-on that is around 1.5 - 2.0" in overall front to back length, maybe an inch or maybe even less in overall height at its tallest spot, and the left/right tips tapering down almost flat without curving forward at all.

so basically no wrap around at all, just a well blended extension that really never exceeds the factory wings boundaries except in the duckbill areas height and of course sticking back out a little more around the tall area.

now i have no idea if what i just typed really makes sense to other people, i am not the best at describing shapes LOL. but if it at all makes sense, i do wonder if it would work in terms of looks, and i bet it would be a very simple product to manufacture compared to a wrap around product that had many many factory lines to match up with rather than just one surface of contact.

anyhow i apologize for steering away from the topic at hand, just wanted to share if i make any sense at all.

I was thinking the same thing, just a small carbon add-on that runs along the edge of the stock wing. They make this exact part for the EVO x/rallart, I'll find the pic....

NewYorkJon34 05-24-2011 09:23 PM

Add-on: http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/w...4/eac8e54f.jpg

Replacement piece: http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/w...4/d457b7a3.jpg

I knows its a different car, but it looks like what ever comes out, a replacement piece will prob look "cleaner"

However, that is not to say that I am uninterested in the current product being developed, I just cant help but wonder if a much more simple shape might meet the goal of those wanting this style? :tiphat:

NewYorkJon34 05-24-2011 10:04 PM

Ya, there is kid around my town with that wing on a white ralliart, lets just say the wing is the best part of his car, lol
