Z's can take a hit from the back.

Last Friday I was driving down the highway and this d-bag going problably 10-15 mph below speed limit decides to cut me off as i was passing him on the HOV lane. Luckily, i was able to avoid a collision but not so lucky with the car behind me that rear ended my Z. I was extremely pissed as anyone would. We stopped and checked the damage and to my surprise the rear bumper was barely damaged. Two screw punctures on the bumper and couple of minor scratches. (The chick who was driving hit my Z two times).

I guess im glad nothing was damaged as much as the collision felt like it would have been. My rear fog light and back cam were intact. Guess this is a good time to have the shop fix it and paint my rear diffuser black.

Conclusion: Our Z ladies, with their wide hips and big ol booty can take a hard hard from the back. :icon23:

Glad everything worked out, I'm sure that could have ended very badly!

This is actually good news. I've been in many heavy traffic situations where I feel confident of my stopping power and not so confident of the following distance of the car behind me. I've been concerned over this. Glad everything's ok!

Glad it wasn't serious... it's better than replacing the fender and lights. There are quite a bit of people making unsafe lane changes, and I'm not sure why.

Make sure the body shop takes a good look at the car. Even if the damage looks minor there could still be major damage under the skin. Sometimes some of the energy absorbing materials have been destroyed and next time god forbid there is an accident the car wont perform like it should.

glad everything is ok!

Glad your fine. That could be a sign for an aftermarket rear bumper

The foam between the bummer and the crash bar will be trashed and need to be replaced. While they have the bumper cover off they should look for any additional damage (bent bar etc). Glad you got out of it pretty lightly!
