I have already purchased real carbon fiber rear chrome delete cover, but I thought I'd try making one with this stuff. It took me about 10 minutes to make the following:

I cannot believe how easy this stuff is to mold with a little bit of heat. Saturday I will do my roof and hopefully if all goes well I will have some nice pictures to share ;)

Hey Bat, how much does this cost in various sizes compared to di-noc?

cheshirecat 03-16-2011 11:57 AM

Wow. More pics!

... prices too :D

Red__Zed 03-16-2011 12:16 PM

looks great. Would love to see prices!

I would like to see pictures of a vinyl wrapped b pillar and a CF evor b pillar cover side by side for a better comparison.

kenchan 03-16-2011 02:28 PM

honestly from experience, the vinyl CF (i use DiNoc) obviously fits better onto the b-pillar than the evo-r ones so you'll probably like the bat's solution more.

the evo-r ones look great for a CF piece, but the fitment was not at the level i'd expected.

Yes! and it comes flush! As far as pricing goes guys, for non moonroof applications, simply add $5 to the standard price :). Roof overlays are alot more expensive, this stuff is awesome, but not cheap cost wise for me. Email me for roof overlay pricing.

DiNoc also have Glossy CF available, so I think it's actually the same thing as long as that Helix stuff is made by 3M. It definitely looks much nicer, but it's also very easy to scratch, much much much easier than the matte DiNoc.

370Z JT 03-17-2011 12:51 AM

Can you put this material next to a wet CF piece for comparison?

dwntwnall4u 03-18-2011 03:57 AM

Hey! Bat maybe we could put it on my car so everyone can see it on a PW 370Z?

the helix stuff looks like CF before you add clear epoxy coat over the top. I will stick with DiNoc... This stuff just looks unfinished but maybe its just me because I have been around CF for so long I notice these kinds of things. The concept just looks incomplete. Now if there was a clear vinyl application over the top that would be sick!!!
