Rear window defroster issue?

How come my rear window defroster doesn't work? This morning i used my defroster for the first time and I realized that the rear window defroster just doesn't work... Just to make sure, turning it on is the same button that is used to activate the side mirror's defroster correct? I had the windows tinted 3 months ago and have never used the defroster before. Thanks in advance.

U press the third dial closest to the passenger side right? Unless they unplugged something during the tint install...

omgZ 01-05-2011 04:06 PM

yeah i pressed it, and it doesn't work. I wonder whats wrong with it...

You know it takes mine about 10 minutes before my window is clear. By then I'm already at work hah

possible that when tinting the rear they could have damage even spliced one the lines...when I turn on my rear defogger, it clears up really fast.

wait our car's have rear window defrosters ??!?!? did they come on the 09 370 z's ?

Vegitto-kun 01-05-2011 06:01 PM

ofcourse they do. I got a 09 Z

but maybe it comes with the touring pack?

omgZ 01-05-2011 06:21 PM

is there a fuse for it?

Edit: I checked the fuse box, and they look good. Is the only other possible cause due to the installation of the tint?

Did the light in the center of the button come on?

omgZ 01-06-2011 05:32 PM

Then it is most likely the connection at the glass...or the grid itself.

I thought you weren't suppose to use the rear de frogger when you tint the windows.

doubleG370Z 01-06-2011 11:43 PM

Careful check around the edges of the rear window w/ your finger to feel for any cuts to the grid/ wiring ... You might have to remove the trim around the inside of the window to further investigate wire connections.

My rears are tinted, defogger works excellent... My cars in the past all no problems.

Nismoracer 01-06-2011 11:51 PM

And all this time I was blind siding it. I could have just hit the defrogger........:shakes head: I thought it peels the tint off or something creates holes or messes with the adhesive.
