Removing OEM Rear Spoiler?

1 Attachment(s)
Alright having a rough time removing the rear spoiler. I have already taken out the 2 bolts and the 2 nuts.

Here is where I'm stuck. Service manual says to now disengage the clips using a remover tool. And what's a remover tool? How do I get access to these clips. There's no room!
Anybody removed the spoiler, please chime in.

most autoparts store with have them, not sure if you need a special one for this, but you may also have to deal with 2 way foam tape under parts of it.

There's a double sticky tape under the spoiler there's the thing use the fishing line to cut the double sticky tape from the spoiler to the body and it won't hurt the paint job I removed couple of 370zs lately in the shop pretty simple task but take time yo remove it don't rush it or u will break the spoiler, plastic parts etc

^do the clips just pop off with a little effort from pulling the spoiler off?

thezmonster 11-28-2010 05:18 PM

yea the clips is for the aligment of the spoiler

thezmonster 11-28-2010 05:21 PM

but you have to be careful to not break the clip aligment though

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I am absolutely stuck. I have already removed the two bolts, but that's it. Idk what else I can remove (particularly the bolts). Any information would be greatly appretiated. Maybe a quick step by step process?

370Z JT 07-31-2012 07:45 PM

There's 2 nuts you have to take out.

Alexshen1 07-31-2012 08:12 PM

broke mine as well

RoshDawg 07-31-2012 09:20 PM

Sorry I did a typo. I already took out the nuts but not the bolts. How do I remove the bolts? Any other tips?
Thanks in advance.

I have my eyes on that duck bill spoiler and might need this information as well.

robones 08-01-2012 12:47 PM

The duck bill spoiler is an "add" on to the OEM sport spoiler. You dont need to remove it.

I don't see how this is an add on.

they broke mine too!!!

Dont know why Nissan secured that wing down so strong... It's not even a high rise wing. Double sided tape and two screws would be sufficient!!

robones 08-01-2012 12:53 PM

You have to do your research... search for carbon signal rear spoiler add on. :) same look without the trouble.

RoshDawg 08-02-2012 01:12 PM

Damn I'm afraid they won't even know what to do if I take it into an autobody shop. I would think so many of us have done this ourselves by now!

RoshDawg 08-02-2012 03:49 PM

Despite 100 warnings I gave to the body shop mechanics, they broke the spoiler, but luckily gave me free installation and $400 cash!

370zjames 02-06-2013 09:12 PM

I was gonna remove it and vinyl wrap it but never mine!
I don't wanna broke my wing. -.-
