Radio on and engine off?
Hey guys,
Got myself a grad present, 09 370z. I noticed on youtube people have their instruments on and radio playing without the engine running. I can't turn on my radio without running the engine... is this a setting i have to change or did i miss something? Thanks Radek |
hit the start button twice without foot on the clutch.
|
Push the start button once, it will switch to acc mode, this will allow you to have the radio on.
|
so is it once or twice? lol
|
Once.
|
I gotta check - you need to hit it twice to get the instrument clusters to light up, right?
And yeah, just once for the radio... |
Brilliant! thanks folks!

The real trick is to turn the engine off while continuing to listen to the radio. Sort of a slow double tap.
|
you guys are going to drain your battery...

once turns on the acc mode(radio) to use your windows you need to hit it again to turn the car on but no engine running.

Hey Ive got a question: When you have the stereo and the T.V. on at the same time, how do you control the volume on the T.V.?
|
If you have the stereo on... Why do you have the stereo on while you're watching TV?

Just found this thread and its pretty ridiculous how terribly misunderstood the OP. I was looking into turning my cars ignition OFF without turning the accessories OFF(radio, power etc). I looked into the owners manual and there's nothing there.
One member that posted back suggested giving the button 2 light consecutive tap while engine is on to shut it OFF but keep the accessories on. +1 rep for you sir. |

Thank you. It is a slight trick but you can easily master it. It effects the blue tooth as well. |

I did this and killed the battery but it was in my own driveway and so a neighbor came over and jumped the battery and I was ok.. I say the easy way because prior to this I was at a remote state park doing exactly the same thing but lucky for me was listening only for a brief time and did not kill the battery.. Lesson learned...the easy way.. |
^ I don't think the A/C will run unless the engine is cranked to turn the pulley on the compressor.
