Front Bumper to cover scrape suggestions
http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0335.jpg
http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_0334.jpg Someone please recomend a front lip to cover this. By the time I pain and get a bumper it will be more expensive than just getting a bumper that covers the scratch. There has to be something out there higher than the evo-r that will cover this. O and btw, from z1 motorsports the nismo s tune is nice but it is 648$$ Any help is appreciated. Post links and suggestions because painting just doesnt make sense price wise especially if I am getting a front lip |
What about the stillen front bumper. You guys think that would work
|
The stillen front bumper is a complete replacement bumper, but I suggest you stay away from that piece. You have to remember that nothing is cheap on this car, so $300-600 is a pretty good deal for a front lip. It is all going to depend on how much you want to modify your car: front lip or full bumper replacement?
|
id prefer a front lip high enough to cover up most of the damage
Ive checked zstore, 370ztune and z1 motorsports. Someone has to have a suggestion |
once again, would the evo-r cover most of the damage and then i could touch up paint the rest?
|
Nothings going to cover all that? Just get it repainted it's not hard to pull the bumper off, and have a paint shop fix it, unless you want to just change it out?
|
^^i agree..just pull it off and give it to a bodyshop..should be around 300-400 to get it done.
|
I've already told you bro, the evo-r lip is not going to cover it up. Plus you already had another thread for the same thing, so there was no need to make a whole new thread for the same problem. With that said, what about the shine auto front lip? Check this thread: http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...installed.html
|
I don't think the stillen one will be much help, but maybe?

You can try the sunline rep kit from shine auto. I think this'll cover the painful scratches on your car. :( It's listed at $300 for FRP. It's a little more for Carbon Fiber. |

FYI, you'd most likely have to get it painted. There are various ways to paint this but it's up to you to decide. Good luck. |
i want it black. matches my wheels :icon18:
|
my lip will cover it for sure man. ask Ken at Shine auto shineautoproject@gmail.com

westwood after you ordered it how long did it take to get to you.
Basically what day did you order, when did it ship out and when did it arrive |
if you want it black and it needs paint, I suggest satin black spray paint. I did that on my veilside lip on my 350z after scraping it, and anytime it needs a touch up, you can just hit it with the rattle can and the satin always blends in on spot repairs.

I aksed westwood, but anyone wanna comment on Fed Ex 5-7 days if ordered tomorrow from cali and shipped to north florida by Saturday

edit: ask Ken if your lucky he might have a lip in stock. if its on stock youl have it fast cuz they ship via fed ex. |

I think I just read this post in a different named thread...:shakes head: Yes, the Shine lip will cover it for sure...and looks great:tup:

UPDATE...Ordered the evo-r. Whatever it doesnt cover im lightly sanding down and putting vinly "fairlday z" at an angle above the lip to cover whatever damage the lip doesnt covers. SHould bea great solution, ten when i get back to tampa i can have the bumper done by someone I know and then put the evo-r back on. WHat do you guys think of my plan?
My boy yung tony said no problem, whatever th lip doesnt cover he will sand down for me and place my vinyl overlay over the exposed scratches as a temp solution. |
.... seriously ^
dude... why don't you just paint the bumper then buy a lip. cover it with a sticker, really? |
We give out stickers in our medical clinic to children. I'll send you some just in case you get scratches elsewhere on the car. Balloons and candy canes would look nice on a Z.
Seriously though. What happened to the Shineauto idea? That seemed to be the easiest solution. There's no point in rushing to get this fixed in a half-a$$ed way. Either repaint and then lip it or get a lip that completely covers the damage. A lip that doesn't hide the damage followed by a sticker followed by taking it all apart to repair is a waste of energy. And how did this happen? I see you have a donut on the front right in the photo too. |

Rockin Rudy's - BANDAID (B11) - Model:
BANDAGE Bumper Sticker The Bandage Bumper Sticker is in the shape of a band aid. Put it over car dents, rust, or any surface that needs healing. 11.5" x 3" Vinyl $1.99 :hello: |
Buy a box of bandaids in assorted sizes. Then stick them over the affected area.
Honestly my wife parked next to a CL the the other day. The car was covered in dings and dents in which each one had it's very own bandaid. I told my wife she had to move the her car. |
haha I love this thread *popcorn* =]

You should try to repair the damage first. It will be difficult to remove the lip once its on. You'll need to paint the Evo-R lip anyways. So if your looking to save some cash, do some of the work yourself. Sand down the area, fill (using bondo bumper repair), spray down primer and sand ready for paint. You could try using rattle can's or just have the shop paint it while you get the lip painted. The black "paint/primer" that's already on the Evo-R lip is not meant to be a top coat and scratches up/ chips rather easily. This site has all the materials you would need including paint. Automotivetouchup.com Touch Up Paint, Aerosol Spray Paint and Paint Touch Up Accessories |
I would of just got the Nismo S-Tune lip color matched and just slap it on. Problem solved cheap, no need to prep, sand, paint or pay for install labor.

Ddvette, I know it's been some time, but I see you're still somewhat active on this board. Can you give an update on this? I'm curious to see your results!
